When Reiji Ozora, who thinks that he is not good at anything, is introduced to the game Dragon Drive, he gets his own virtual dragon named Chibi, who is small and weak at first but turns out to be more than meets the eye.
Ken-ichi Sakura made his debut in Monthly Shonen Jump with the manga Fabre Tanteiki, which was in 2000. He began Dragon Drive in the March 2001 issue of Monthly Shonen Jump, which went on to be a successful anime and even bred its own video games. His latest work, Kotokuri, began running in March 2006's volume in Monthly Shonen Jump.
This series is SO MUCH FUN! I love a good series the puts the weight of the world on the shoulders of children, and watching as the children use their youth and innocence as their super power to overcome ANYTHING they face. And the theme of friendship is always a nice touch.
Reiji has grown beyond his anger and learned to use the light inside of Chibi to overcome his adversaries. I love the Ri-On team that has been introduced and the pest of the shadow dragon that is on their team. They remind me of Team Rocket a little…but more serious of course!
