Managing People...What's Personality Got To Do With It?

Rate this book
Success in life is significantly, if not totally, dependent upon our ability to manage. We manage on the job, we manage in our governmental and educational institutions, and we manage in our personal lives. Successful managers are those who understand what needs to be accomplished, who communicate with those who are supposed to get it done, and achieve a desired result through their efforts. While the focus of this book is on management interactions between people based on their personality colors in the working world, the principles and processes it presents are equally applicable in any environment or situation. What you’ll learn from reading this book by best-selling author Carol Ritberger will not only help you understand why people consistently and predictably do the things they do, but it will help you understand the challenges and limitations you must deal with based on your own personality traits and characteristics. It will also show you how to utilize the knowledge and understanding of personality differences to manage, influence, and motivate your subordinates, peers, and associates successfully. Overall, it will bring color to your life as a manager.

Carol Ritberger Ph.D. , is a radio host, author and an innovative leader in the fields of personality behavioral psychology and behavioral medicine. With more than 28 years of experience as an internationally renowned medical intuitive, Carol's expertise is in helping people understand how personality, emotional, psychological and spiritual energy can lie at the root cause of illness, disease, and life crises. As the result of a near-death experience in 1981, she is literally able to see the human energy system, the aura, to identify energy congestion, protrusions, depletions and blockages that are affecting the body's ability to function properly and sustain good health. Using this skill she is able to offer a comprehensive picture of why we become ill and offer insight into what is needed to heal.

Carol holds a doctorate in Theology and a doctorate in Esoteric Philosophy and Hermetic Science. Drawing on her education in personality typology, psychoneuroimmunology, spirituality, metaphysics and esoteric healing, Carol weaves these perspectives together with biology, physiology, psychology, and psychospirituality. The result is she is able to uncover the hidden contributors behind illness in a credible and understandable way. Armed with this knowledge, a person is able to participate more effectively in their own healing and in helping other people heal themselves.

Carol is an author of Your Personality, Your Health; What Color Is Your Personality?; Love…What's Personality Got to Do with It?; Managing People…What's Personality Got to Do with It?; and Healing Happens with Your Help…Understanding the Hidden Meaning Behind Illness. Her books, What Color is Your Personality?; Managing People…What's Personality Got to Do with It?; and Healing Happens with Your Help are text books for many national and international educational institutions. Carol's work has been featured in print and on radio and television. All of her books are available at www.hayhouse.com , www.amazon.com and local book sellers. She hosts a live call-in Internet radio show called The Carol Ritberger Show every Wednesday at 10 A.M PDT on www.contacttalkradio.com.

Recognizing the desire to learn how to heal oneself and the deep yearning for spiritual enlightenment, Carol co-founded with her husband, Bruce Ritberger, the Ritberger Institute for Esoteric Studies in 1999. She serves as CEO and Educational Director. She authored the curriculum offered in the Institute's many programs and remains actively involved in the teaching process. One of Carol's many joys is teaching people how to acknowledge, trust, and develop their intuition so they're able to tap in to their inner wisdom and use it to heal their mind, body, and soul. I absolutely LOVED this book! Well written, insightful, intelligent read.
I used it to put a whole project together around building high performing teams and the team truly enjoyed taking the personality test to understand a bit more about themselves and their teammates. I also used it to understand how to communicate better with my staff, convey important messages during one-on-ones or performance reviews and even identify new hires I wanted/needed and hep build career paths for my staff.
I’d say this is a must read for any manager who truly wants to understand their staff better and get the best out from them while keeping them motivated and engaged. It also gives you a good perspective about what time of employee/leader you are and how to best address your blind spots and weaknesses while taking advantage of your strengths and best qualities.
I truly put this book to use!

There are better books on managing people; better books with updated neuroscience; better examples of well-researched personality assessments.

This book is outdated and unhelpful.

It is quiet insightful in the sense that it tells you there are specific personality traits which are complementary. If you get angry very easily you are likely to be stickler to time...quiet interesting read
