Published in 1980 as a Sunday school guide, it is in reality a very good commentary on the New Testament book of Philippians. It has a good balance of application and word study, without going so deep in the original language as to lose the average layman. My only criticism is with the theologians the author chooses to quote from. William Barclay (p.72) doubted the supernatural element of the miracles in the New Testament, whereas Emil Brunner (p.9) and Karl Barth (p. 26, 64, & 128) were outright liberals. So the bottom line is: while I personally wouldn't recommend the books of any of the three quoted theologians to anyone, Robbin's book itself was beneficial.
