In preparing for LDS church ordinances in our adoption, I checked this book out. I thought it would be a good resource for our son to see and use. Umm. It was not good, at all. There was little depth of emotion. I felt that the poor African-American child that was being adopted by the white family was really treated as being "different." Needless to say, I did not let my child read it.

This is the perfect book for an adopted child getting ready to be sealed to his/her adopted family. It was very tender and sweet.
