What this is: a quick, bird's eye view of the basic ideas, concepts, and structure of a Six Sigma project.
What this isn't: a learning tool for someone looking to certify themselves in Six Sigma.

For me, this was exactly what I wanted. A short refresher and guide on Six Sigma terminology and practices. I suspect it would also be useful for somebody working on the periphery of a Six Sigma project who wants or needs to know the general shape of what's going on.

Great history, overview, and introduction to the methodology of Six Sigma. When managers learn how to use it they MUST train their direct reports and involve the vast majority of the workforce. This book gives a great start.

The book gave a terse introduction to the subject of Six Sigma. I found it a little hard to follow at times as it seemed to assume the reader already had some background knowledge of the subject, but for me, being a greeny, it made harder work of trying to understand the concepts of this complex discipline. Nevertheless, it's maybe given me a taster enough to find another book to build on the limited knowledge gained.

Its very basic and introductory. What you would read on a 2 hour journey. This may serve as a starter for your team to get on board with the program and familiarize them with the jargons.
