Camden Poe is the last of The Lucky Three, the surviving Pittsburgh Titans who weren’t on the team plane the night it went down. By all outward appearances, he’s adjusted to post-crash life well but inside he’s wrestling with the guilt of living.

The catastrophe that killed the Pittsburgh Titans changed my entire world. My teammates were more than my friends—they were my brothers. I mourned their loss with the rest of the nation but then I did as I’ve been taught… I moved on. I focused on returning to the ice with the newly rebuilt team and put the tragedy behind me. Considering the circumstances, I adjusted well. Or so I thought. Now I’m plagued by nightmares of the crash and my play has suffered as a result. Facing the possibility of losing my place on the team, I need to pull myself together and fast.

My buddy and linemate, Mitch Brandt died in the crash, leaving his wife Danica and son Travis behind to pick up the pieces of their shattered family. After reconnecting with Danica at a support group meeting, I find myself inexplicably drawn to helping her and her son move forward. What starts as two friends finding solace in one another following a tragedy becomes something more, leaving us both wondering if we deserve this chance.

I feel as if I’m walking a precarious line between a man falling for an incredible woman and a man moving in on his dead friend’s wife. But one thing is crystal clear—I’ve found a peace with Danica that I wasn’t sure I’d ever have again. Now I need to find the confidence within myself to push past the insecurities and make sure she knows how important she is to me because if I don’t, I’ll lose the one thing that makes me truly complete.

Camden is book 8 of the Pittsburgh Titans hockey romance series by Sawyer Bennett

Tropes:
⭐ friends to lovers
⭐ second chance at love
⭐ single parent

Camden delivers a fantastic addition to this deeply emotional Saga. As an original member of the Titans, Camden's life changed forever when he narrowly escaped the tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of his teammates & shook the foundation of the team.

Although he appears to have moved on, Camden has merely buried his feelings refusing to confront the trauma he experienced. But when forced to attend a support group meeting, where he unexpectedly reunites with Danica and Travis Brandt, the wife & son of his late teammate, Mitch.

Camden finds himself inexplicably drawn to Danica, but he is conflicted about their intertwined relationship. What follows is an enthralling & deeply moving journey as Camden & Danica attempt to navigate their feelings & the complex dynamics between them. As Camden also forges a touching bond with Travis, my heart couldn't help but melt witnessing his dedication to supporting them while simultaneously preserving Mitch's memory—a truly swoon-worthy portrayal.

The narrators, Aaron Shedlock & Savannah Peachwood, deliver impeccable performances that convey the myriad of emotions the characters experience. Their voices are captivating, effortlessly drawing listeners into the narrative.

Personally, I found this book to be an absolute delight. Watching Camden & Danica evolve from friends to lovers was a heartwarming experience, even though their path was riddled with challenges. Sawyer Bennett's writing shines brilliantly from beginning to end, painting a beautiful portrait of Danica's strength as she shapes her life around her son.

This emotional love story left me with a beaming smile as I witnessed Camden grappling with his emotions both professionally and personally, reclaiming control of his life and opening his heart to a new chapter of love and happiness.

Camden Poe is a professional hockey player for the Pittsburgh Titans. He has his dream job, wonderful friends and a great life, but has been struggling lately. He’s known as one of the lucky three who weren’t on the team plane the night it went down. It’s been ten and a half months since the crash, and he’s grieved, mourned, and thought he’d moved forward. He’s adjusting to the newly rebuilt team, but deep down he truly hasn’t processed everything. He’s plagued by nightmares, but isn’t one to talk about his problems. He needs to get himself together before he jeopardizes his spot on the team. Then he reconnects with Danica, the widow of his friend Mitch Brandt. They run into each other at a support group meeting. They share a history that’s wrapped up in tragedy and survival, and can relate to one another. It’s been almost a year, and she seems to be succeeding at slowly rebuilding her life after the loss of her husband. She’s now a single mom picking up the pieces, but he wants to help out. Their team has always been like one big family, and he feels drawn to her. As two friends realize what a strong connection they share, romantic feelings develop. Soon Danica is important to Camden, but the past complicates things. Will they follow their hearts, and take a chance on love?

Camden (Pittsburgh Titans #8) by Sawyer Bennett is a heartwarming, emotional, single mom, second chance, friends to lovers romance with all the feels. It’s about love, loss, healing and undeniable connections. I really enjoyed this couple’s beautiful journey. <333

We have the last of the Lucky Three, Camden's story, and this one is just as heavy as the others. Camden looks like he's adjusted well since the crash, but that's only because he's good at hiding the fact that he's suffering from Survivors Guilt. But when the nightmares get worse, and his playing suffers from it, it's time for the coach to talk with him....

Sawyer Bennett did a fabulous job of giving us a story about not only finding love after loss but also about learning to deal with survivor's guilt. I loved the chemistry between Camden and Danica, but what I loved, even more, was the way they were there for one another when they needed a shoulder.

5 Star Review Camden (Pittsburgh Titans #8) by Sawyer Bennett

eBook/Audio

Camden is the eight book in the emotional Pittsburgh Titans Series and what a fantastic to the series. Camden Poe is known as one of the “Lucky 3”, he is an original member of the Titans but due to circumstances was not on the plane that crashed and killed everyone on board and decimated the team.

He thought he had delt with the tragedy but really all he has done is buried his feelings, ignoring them until it all comes to a head, both professionally and personally. He knows how lucky he is but until he faces the trauma of the past, he cannot move forward.

Pushed to attend a support group meeting he re-connects with Danica and Travis Brandt, the wife and son of his deceased teammate Mitch. Camden is shocked at how drawn he is to Danica, but he has mixed emotions, after all there is the “bro” code which means he should not cross the lines.

What follows is an emotional and entertaining journey that pulled me in and had me riveted as both Camden and Danica try to sort out their emotions and what it means for them as a couple. The relationship that he built with Travis melted my heart. He was determined to be there for both of them and equally determined not to replace Mitch but to honour his memory and that was totally swoon worthy.

The narration by Aaron Shedlock and Savannah Peachwood was spot on. Their performances brought out all the emotions and doubts that the characters go through. Their voices are easy to listen to and you cannot help but be drawn into the story as they narrate.

I loved this book, the journey that Camden and Danica travelled from friends’ to lovers, wasn’t easy but it left me with a smile on my face. It was heart-warming to watch Camden take back control of his life. This book was everything I look for in a romance; there is passion, romance, banter and tension and it ticked all the boxes for me.

Camden thought he was fine. But as the first anniversary of the fallen airplane approaches, he's having trouble sleeping. When his attendance is demanded at the gathering of his team, he is happy to see Danika again. He's in awe of her and her strength after she lost her husband in the crash. He wants to help her ease her burden and while he's helping her, he starts noticing her as an attractive woman and not just a friend. Soon they cross the line to more, but he's struggling with his feelings towards her. He'll have to do something about it if he wants to keep her in his life.

Danica is raising her son the beat way she knows how. When Camden starts showing up, she too starts noticing him as more than just a friend. While she is OK with this step in her life, she knows life is short and she needs him to be 100 % sure that he wants to be with her, otherwise it is not good for them to spend time together. Survivor's guilt has a way of making even the strongest of men (almost) crumble under pressure. And that's what happened to Camden. Thankfully he soon realized that without her, nothing else matters.

This story was beautifully written from start to finish. I loved the way she made her life work for her and her son. Camden is the last of the lucky 3 to get his HEA and I'm more than happy with how things ended for our MCs.

Camden🏒

Camden is the next book in the Pittsburgh Titans series and is such a great story❣️

Camden is one of the three remaining original Titans players. Due to an injury he was not on the plane when it crashed. Danica is the widow of one of the Titans players, but has finally started moving forward with her life and is the newly appointed director of a charitable foundation that Brienne has set up in her brother’s name.

Camden reconnects with Danica at a group support meeting and slowly starts helping her, feeling guilty for not having done more when she lost her husband and he lost his teammate and good friend. When it becomes more, there’s something holding Camden back and it soon might mean he loses the one thing that has helped him move forward😢

A great story that I really enjoyed and I’m eager to get Bain next and find out what’s going on between him and a certain off limits person😉

Camden Poe is the last of The Lucky Three, the surviving Pittsburgh Titans who wasn't aboard the team plane when it crashed. He grieves over the lost of his teammates and during group counseling sees the widow Danica (who is now a single mom of Trent) of his teammate Mitch. They battle with being with each other and what others think of him despite their circumstances but they can't deny on another any longer. Not a plot I usually come across often of the main characters, but was done very well.

Narrators Aaron Shedlock and Savannah Peachwood were really good.

Camden Poe is the last of the final three to have his story told. He wasn’t on the plane crash that killed most of his team and looks like he has adjusted to surviving and his new team without a hitch. But he is affected, just hiding it well, until he isn’t. When he joins a survivors’ group, he reconnects with his best friend’s widow and something clicks.

Danica wouldn’t have imagined herself a young widow, and now that she finds herself with that title, she has had to make major changes since Mitch died. As she takes on a new job with the team’s charitable foundation, she finds each step of moving on with her life a little easier.

They begin as friends, and Camden makes himself available to help Danica’s son, Travis, as he gets back into hockey. Through the various interactions they begin to think there could be more between them, but Camden is hesitant to go public because of the “bro” code he feels towards Mitch.

I loved watching the friendship build between these two. They are a great support for each other, and the feelings developed so naturally as they spent more time together. Camden really through he had everything together following the crash, and it was heartwarming to watch him work through the reality of everything he was bottling up. (That feels like an odd way to say what I’m feeling about it, but I can’t think of a better way to phrase it.)

I listened to the audio version and loved the way Aaron Shedlock and Savannah Peachwood voiced the characters. They made an already fun read even more immersive as they made the emotions and reactions really come to life.

This is the 8th book in the series and is Camden Poe's story. He is the last of the "Lucky Three" who was not on the plane when it crashed taking his teammates and coaching staff. He hasn't really dealt with the grief, he has been pushing it deep down hoping it would go away.
Danica Brandt is the wife of one of those lost in the crash and she has had to push forward to make a life for her and her son without Mitch, the love of her life.
When Camden and Danica reconnected at a support group for family and friends of the victims, their friendships is rekindled. Turns out there are a few sparks flying and feelings beginning to grow between them.
Can Camden see that it is ok to date Danica before he loses her? Will he let the guilt of dating his dead friend get in the way of their relationship? Danica and Mitch's son, Travis is a bright, smart, and talented kid and he sees what is happening between his mom and Camden.
This story is a journey for two people to heal their pain and remove the guilt and find the happiness they both deserve. It is filled with all the emotions to make it a great story. So grab it and enjoy. I do recommend reading the whole series in order, you really don't want to miss anything in this series.

This book pulls you right in. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Baden (Pittsburgh Titans #1)
Stone (Pittsburgh Titans #2)
Gage (Pittsburgh Titans #3)
Coen (Pittsburgh Titans #4)
Drake (Pittsburgh Titans #5)
Cannon (Pittsburgh Titans #6)
Hendrix (Pittsburgh Titans, #7)

This is Danica and Camden’s story. Camden is one of the lucky three. He was moving forward until the nightmares started. He thought he was doing good but now he is suffering. When he reconnects with his teammate’s wife Danica in a support group, he finds a friend. Loss brings them together but will the guilty ripe them apart? Can they move forward together? Or should they have never crossed the line? He was supposed to be a friend, but it turned into more than either of them ever expected. Can something good come out of such a tragedy?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. Can’t wait for the other hockey players in this series to get their story.

I highly recommend this story, and this author. Can’t wait to read the next story in this series!

M/F Friends to Lovers
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Danica and her son Travis are moving on. After losing her husband and the father of her child, Danica needed to keep on living. She missed Mitch a lot, but knowing that her son was counting on her, Danica found a way.

Camden is living, but he is consumed with guilt. He knows that he's messing up in life right now, but he can't help the guilt.

When Camden is given an ultimatum of going to a support group or being moved down a line, Camden sucks it up. Afterall, these are his friends. They've all lived through the same tragedy.

What neither Camden or Danica are expecting is an attraction. Sure they were friendly before and Camden knew he'd always be there for Danica and Travis, but the attraction he feels now is just leading to more guilt.

This is a story that was about forgiving yourself, loving again and never forgetting the past.

Camden's story was not my favorite of this series and it was much slower than the rest. However, I enjoyed the story enough that I would recommend it to someone else.

I was lucky to get an ALC of Camden by Sawyer Bennett.

The audio for Camden is so good! I was hooked by chapter 1. Camden is a gooey cinnamon roll hero. He has so many layers to get through with his grief. He is one of the original members of the Titan team. I the beginning of the story Camden is having bad dreams about the crash and it’s impacting his play and he is required to deal with his grief. Danica the heroine is the widow of one of Camden’s team mates and the reconnect at a grief support meeting. Danica has a son who Camden start helping with hockey drills. While starting off as friends they start having feelings for each other, but where Danica has no issues being in a relationship with Camden, he struggles that people will see it as wrong. This friends to lovers book is a slower burn than some in this series but 100% needed to understand the challenges Camden in facing. I really enjoyed their story and listened to it in multiple sessions because I did not want it to be over too quickly! I definitely recommend this book!

Camden was the eighth book in the Pittsburgh Titans series by Sawyer Bennett.

Camden Poe was the final story of the “lucky three” that were not on the plane that crashed and killed most of the NHL Pittsburgh Titans team and staff. As we’ve found to this point, none felt lucky and all experienced survivors guilt, so I knew going in that this would be another emotional storyline. And a year later, Camden has reconnected with his line mate/best friend’s widow, Danica, and son, Travis as a trusted friend. Adding to the guilt, he now sees Danica as more than a friend.

Bennett took us through the emotional storyline with honor and reverence. It was somewhat of a slow build with lots of honesty and “feelings” talk. It was also low on drama and probably fairly realistic for a typical scenario. All in all, it was heartfelt and enjoyable. Bain is up next and will likely be more explosive!

Camden was one of the Lucky Three - the trio of Pittsburgh Titans players who was not on the plane with his teammates when it crashed, killing all on board. Telling himself that he has dealt with the trauma and put it aside, Camden is just hiding it well... until he isn't. Forced encouraged by his coach to attend a grief support meeting, he reconnects with Danica, the widow of his former friend/teammate. While stepping in to help Danica, Camden must confront his grief and guilt, while also reconciling his growing feelings for Danica.

I've inhaled each book in this series and had been looking forward to Camden's story. I loved watching Camden reconnect with Danica and become an important part of her life and that of her son, Travis. Danica, while obviously still missing her husband almost a year after the crash, had worked through her grief and was able to be there for Camden, helping him navigate his own in a healthy way. At the same time, they had an ease to their relationship, having known each other for years, and I liked the way they were able to make such a natural feeling shift from friends to more. Their chemistry was off the charts, and their physical relationship provided plenty of steam. The support of Camden's teammates, and his relationship with Travis were true highlights. Another solid entry in a series that I don't want to end.

This book is so good, but then what book of Ms Bennett isn’t? Camden was one of the Titan’s players that didn’t lose his life when the crash took out the whole team except for three. I can’t imagine how hard it was for Camden to have such a close relationship with Danica who was Mitch’s widow. Throw in that Camden was close to Mitch and loved him like a brother. It was so sweet how their friendship grew stronger, and how involved Camden was with Travis, Danica’s son. It was so hard to see how Camden had closed himself off after the crash and didn’t want to talk about it. It was so heartwarming how much Danica and Travis helped in healing Camden’s heart. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

Yikes this one pulls at the heartstrings more than the others in this series. I definitely feel the loss and trauma caused by the plane crash which truthfully was what I have been looking for. Yes this is romance but what happened was awful and not something you get over right away… if ever.

Our couple are both living in the aftermath of something that affected not just a hockey team but it’s entire community. Adding a sweet little boy to this tale makes it even better.

Definitely loved this one and looking forward to this series completion. Eek. I can’t wait for more.

Happy Reading Everyone!

This one was interesting because I could see both sides. The one where Camden was concerned what the team would think and Danica ready to start the next part of her life. And while Danica can't forget Mitch, she has to live with the reality that he is gone. When these two were allowed to just be they were great, could talk about things and it wasn't awkward. It also helped that Camden was interested in Travis apart from Danica and was so great with him. I was glad when Camden finally came clean to the team and got support right away.

Camden is an incredible romance that stole a piece of my heart. I couldn't put it down once I started diving into Camden Poe's world. From the very beginning, I was captivated by his story – the survivor of a devastating plane crash, trying to hold it all together, even when the weight of his emotions threatened to break him.

As Camden joins a survivors' group, fate brings him back to Danica, his best friend's widow. Their reconnection felt like destiny, and I couldn't help but root for them as they slowly built their friendship. Seeing their bond grow with each passing moment made my heart soar.

Danica's strength and resilience left me in awe. Life threw her an unimaginable curveball, but she gracefully took on the challenge, making major changes and embracing a new job with the team's charitable foundation. Her journey towards healing and moving forward felt deeply personal, and I couldn't help but feel a connection with her character.

The chemistry between Camden and Danica was electric, but what really touched my soul was Camden's inner struggle. His loyalty to his late best friend, Mitch, and the "bro" code that held him back from going public with his feelings added a layer of complexity to their romance. It was heartwrenching yet beautiful to witness Camden confront his emotions and work through the pain he had been hiding for so long.

As I delved deeper into Camden's world, I found myself emotionally invested in their story. The rawness and authenticity of their relationship were beautifully portrayed, making me feel like I was experiencing their journey right alongside them.

Sawyer Bennett's writing style is simply mesmerizing. The way she weaves emotions into every word made the story come alive, pulling at my heartstrings and leaving me with a profound sense of satisfaction.

This book was cute but it was a little too slow burn for me. I know the relationship was between a widow and someone with survivors guilt so it needed to be slow but there were times where I felt the slow almost paused. Dani and Camden were good together when they finally met on the same page. The ending was disappointing as it was so abrupt, they did get a HEA which was good but I felt maybe an epilogue would have added to it.

2.5 stars. Camden is such a fucking mess. MULTIPLE times people mentions he needs to go to therapy and his internal reasoning is, “I grew up in an emotionally closed off household and I don’t feel like going to therapy.” And then he connects with Danica and admires how together she seems after losing her husband in the plane crash and having to restructure her entire life, and you know what she tells him? It was because of her community and THERAPY.

So instead of accessing a tool that he easily has access to, he uses Danica as a makeshift therapist from almost day one. And for whatever reason, she lets him??

SPOILER:
And then when she refuses to be a secret because he won’t address his actual feelings WITH A PROFESSIONAL and ends it, he ends up telling his teammates that he ended it as he confesses his feelings for her because their feelings about it are more important than hers?? Like, what?? Danica is in for a lifetime of an emotionally immature man who’s going to use her as a therapist forever. Gross.

I strongly disliked Drake, and I might actually dislike Camden more. He is a walking emotional dumpster fire.
