The Vampire Club

Bestselling authors J.R. Rain and Scott Nicholson unleash The Vampire Club—a group of lovable, laughable, larcenous college students turned vampire hunters!

Nearly two hundred years ago, a man was killed with a silver bullet in a rural, Pennsylvanian town. A man who just might have been a vampire.

The Vampire Club, a group of misfits who meet regularly in the basement of Western Virginia University’s library, think that they might have found the first documented case of a real vampire.

Better yet, the club thinks the vampire might still be alive to this day, lying comatose in a hidden, rural grave. This is good news indeed for a group of nerdy vampire lovers.

The hunt begins, and as they close in on their immortal prize, they soon realize that they aren't the only ones interested in the vampire; indeed, a powerful group of hunters will use whatever means possible to keep the vampire permanently in its grave...

The Vampire Club
Written by: J.R. Rain, Scott Nicholson
Narrated by: Eric Stuart
This is such a funny audible book, I laughed and giggled, snorted throughout this goofy book. It is so clever with the silly things it has in it that I almost missed some of the things if I wasn't paying attention. The book is sprinkled with the quick wit, and cunning way they eased the witticism in. I loved it and the characters were wonderful, the plot's a hoot!
The narrator couldn't have been better for this book. He fit this book perfect and made this book even funnier! He made the voices perfect for each person, even the women. It is not easy to do comedy and he did it so easy! Awesome job!!!

Entertaining vampire listening 🎶🔰

Another will written J. R. Rain ☔ and Scott Nickolson about the vampire club at a college in western Virginia and what happens when they take a trip in search of a dead vampire. The characters are interesting and well developed with lots of action and misdirection leading to one of members being turned into a vampire. I would recommend this series and various authors to readers of paranormal fantasy novels 👍🔰. 2023 😀😯👒

Zoinks!

You don't come across this everyday - an intentionally funny book about vampires.

The purpose of The Vampire Club is to gather evidence to prove the existence of vampires. So, you can imagine the hijinkies when the gang blunders into the lair of the VVV - (Vu Vlux Vlad) - whose only goal is to KILL vampires. Can those meddling kids save the last vampire from the clutches of the weird cultists? (*Hint - the vampire is NOT old man Jenkins in a mask!)

Yes, there was something warmly nostalgic about this book that reminded me of my Saturday mornings spent with Shaggy, Scoob and the gang. True, in this book, Fred would be a little less interested in wearing ascots, and a little more interested in getting into Daphne's purple skirt. (And, now I'm picturing Fred wearing...oh, never mind!)

While this story is not likely to be shortlisted for any literary awards, it's a fun read with plenty of cute moments. Plus, there's no Scrappy!

Scooby Snacks all around!

A nice twist on the vampire story

This was just a goofy vampire story. The members of the Vampire Club want to find a real vampire. When they do find a possible vampire they rush to uncover it literally. Seems the vampire was shot with a silver bullet and was not really dead for a second time. The goal is to revive the vampire and have him turn all the members of the club into vampires. However, there is a group of vampire hunters that don't want the vampire brought back to live and they will go to great lengths to keep the vampire in his coffin. Usually I want the main characters to prevail, but this time I was pretty neutral toward club members and vampire hunters. The Vampire Club were just a little too naive about the true nature of vampires. The Vampire hunters were too obsessed with keeping the vampires on ice. Still it was an enjoyable read and it remained me of the movie the Fearless Vampire Hunters of the early 1970's. So just grab a copy and read it and shake your head over how dumb the characters can be especially Andy.

The was one of the best books I have read in a long time because of the fresh writing style, the hysterically funny dialogue and the repartee between all the characters involved. What a joy to read something this witty and intelligent, albeit, wrapped up in the horror genre.

A group of university students are on the hunt for a vampire, a real "live" vampire. When they think they have found one, they set out on a journey to claim him and possibly to become one themselves.

I really love this book. It is totally different than most of the other vampire books I have read. Its really funny but not to funny that its stupid. There is a real story and the ending wasn't one that I would have guessed. I downloaded this as a free ebook but it is worth spending money on. Anyone who likes vampires should really read this book.

The Vampire Club was not what I expected from either of these authors, but that doesn't mean it wasn't enjoyable. Be prepared for a bit of cheese in this story of Andy and his fellow Vampire Club members, but it's a fun cheese.

Kalau ditanya, klimaknya dimana? Yaitu saat mereka berhadapan dengan VVV.

Once Bitten, Twice Shy

A very strange take on the vampire genre involving unlovable characters and a plot with holes you could drive a truck through. I’m sure silver bullets are a werewolf thing but not being a member of the vampire club I could be wrong. I won’t be keeping an eye out for a sequel

The Vampire Club (I want to join!)

Perfect blend of humor and paranormal. Poor Andy gets to fall in love and become his dream...becoming a vampire. Not as clear cut dream as the club hopped for.
You will love this story if you jumped at the title it is everything you hoped.

A fun read that reminded me of a 80's horror movie. You will guess the ending, but it is still worth the time to read.

The Vampire Club by Scott Nicholson and J.R. Rain is a funny, suspenseful, entertaining read. If you like vampires, you will love this book. The authors capture the interest of their readers, reel them in, and don’t let them go until the readers are completely satisfied. If you enjoy how humor can lighten a serious subject, you will enjoy this book.

The story begins with Andy, who is a Vampire Studies major at Western Virginia University. It is the only vampire-type major in the country. There are four students and one professor, and they’re all members of The Vampire Club. The ultimate purpose of the club is to prove the existence of vampires.

Andy finds an old newspaper article that sounds eerily like a vampire sighting and killing. Since the club knows that vampires can’t be killed, but only put into a coma with a silver bullet, they decide to track down this comatose vampire and bring him back to life. They just need to find a place to stay near the burial grounds, which are in a different state.

The Vampire Club gets a new member who volunteers to let them all stay with his cousins who live near the burial site. After they arrive, nothing goes as planned. There is a conspiracy, a romantic conflict, and a risky adventure all wrapped into one, as the club attempts to carry out its plans.

This book will not disappoint. The story gets better and better the further you read. The characters are lively, and passionate about vampires and each other. I recommend this book to readers of suspense and paranormal who also enjoy a bit of humor.

I am embarrassed to say that this had been sitting on my TBR list for a very long time. I finally read it, mainly because the two authors are two of my favorite, and also great guys.

The book was a good book but not the greatest from these authors. It was cute, quirky, a little goofy, and maybe a little scary (maybe). I do love the way these guys dialogue and the storyline was a good idea. It was just a little too silly for my taste. The plot was a good idea- a Vampire Club/Class or major at a college, a small group of kids obsessed with Vampires- finding them, proving their existence, proving they aren't necessarily the bad creatures of the night the media has turned them into. This group is led by an old professor who pulls strings to fund their trip to find out if a man killed 150 years ago may be a vampire, lying in his coffin, just waiting to be brought back to his vampiric life. But when they get there, they end up dealing with an ages-old secret organization intent on the extinction of vampires.

Again, it was a good book and the ending was left open-ended, supposedly for sequels, but it looks like this will be the only book in the series. I would have read more because it intrigued me enough to want to know what happened to the characters and what direction they were headed at the end of the book. These are great authors but this was not their greatest work. Not bad, not great, but okay.

A group of college students are obsessed with vampires. They firmly believe they exist. In fact, they are majoring in vampires in the one college that offers such courses. Stumbling upon an article from centuries earlier, they embark on a journey to find a real vampire in a comatose state and revive him. But they stumble upon a group sworn to ridding the world of all vampires. Now they have to save their own lives and that of a long sleeping vampire.

I’m familiar with these authors so I knew I would enjoy the story. I wasn’t disappointed. Yes, the storyline sounds a little out there. It has to be. So you have to get beyond that to enjoy the story. What I loved the most was the humor. I even had to read a few sections out loud as I laughed.

The story was entertaining and kept me on my toes. I never could assume what was going to happen next especially with such interesting characters. Also, this isn’t your stereotypical vampire story. It plays with the assumptions and traditions about them and gives them a new spin while not going too far off board to where those who love vampire stories won’t be turned off.

If you are looking for an entertaining and unusual vampire story, give this one a try.

Note: I received this book during free download days on Amazon without any expectation of a positive review.

Opening this novel, I was preparing myself for the vampire version of the Babysitter's club, as the title promised. In that regard, I wasn't disappointed. The book opens on a group of college students majoring in Vampire Studies, with the only interest of finding the existence of vampires. I thought that this premise was an interesting one, and I hadn't read before any books about a club finding the existence of vampires before, so I kept reading.

The book continued in a pleasant way, the storyline was engaging and the characters amusing, but for me there were definitely a few issues. The author uses the word "for" a lot--"for this reason," "for that was why"...that drives me nuts. There is a time and a place for the word for, and it's not in every other sentence. Also, when the ending occured, I don't like the way the main character approached it. It was the culmination of his goal--and yet he felt condemned? I know that a drastic change like that can alter a person's perspective, but that seemed a little extreme.

If you want a good read, though, with an amusing plotline and a twist on your traditional vampire novel, this one's for you!

Okay, if you don’t like silly, campy, slap-stick humor, you won’t appreciate this story at all. Just a word of warning. To be honest, it’s not exactly my favorite genre either, but who doesn’t like to be silly every now and then? This book proves that neither J.R. Rain or Scott Nicholson take themselves too seriously, and that’s refreshing. The rest of the books in this collection have a touch of humor but not to this extent. It was actually a pretty entertaining read and a nice break from the usual paranormal fare. Basically, if you’re looking for a nice diversion that will have you either slapping your palm to your forehead, moaning in disbelief that they actually did ‘go there,’ laughing out loud and at times doing all three at once, this book is perfect. ;)

One of the reviews I read on The Vampire Club described this book as having "sophomoric humor" and didn't find it entertaining. Sorry, reader, but that is called satiric literature, it is written as a complete and total spoof on vampire fans. All the vampire fans who want to read this book had better be prepared to laugh at themselves. I found it very entertaining and laugh-out-loud funny.

I wouldn't call it an enthralling suspense; but I would applaud it as a wonderful spoof. The authors must have spent some time thinking up all the outlandish metaphors used. Reading this book was a nice break from the suspenseful books.

My only concern is that the ending could have been better. However, it was all J. R. Rain!

I know what this book was trying to do, I wanted to like this, but I just didn't. I really love Scott Nicholson as an author but I just did not find this funny. This may well just be me, as a rule I don't find things funny that are supposed to be funny (if you know what I mean). Humour aside, I just did not give a damn about any of the characters, nor did I find the plot interesting. I really don't lie giving bad reviews, but I do believe in being honest, and I'm afraid that for me, this book did not have any redeeming features. Such a disappointment in comparison to Nicholson's other novels.

Comedy in the vein of Mel Brooks or Monty Python! Satiric literature at its best! Poking fun of fans who might take themselves too seriously. Apparently, J.R. wrote this when he was 19 years old, and Scott cleaned it up for him to publish. Thank goodness he did. This book is perfect when you need a good hard laugh.
I laughed so hard I dropped my precious Kindle. Thank God for Otterbox!

Hopefully, we'll see more of this in the future.

Thanks for the laughs gentlemen.

I had high hopes for this book, having read previous titles by both J. R. Rain & Scott Nicholson. Sadly, The Vampire Club fell a little short of meeting those expectations.

While it has some interesting concepts, and thought provoking questions in regards to an immortal life, its cringeworthy dialogue (and narration) leaves a lot to be desired.

It was not a WOW book, but I liked it. There were many funny parts when I found myself laughing out loud. Andy is a very funny character. The end was a little abrupt: it would make sense if this is part of a series.

Good book. Easy to read and pretty interesting.

I enjoyed it very much, a good book about a club wanting to find a vampire and then become a vampire. Had some funny moment along with a few serious ones.

This was an ok time filler - nothing special but not bad at all. I'm not really a fan of Vampire literature (unless it's Ray Garton or Stephen King's "Salems Lot") but this was an interesting and light-hearted romp with a bit of light humour thrown into the mix.

What a funny, campy book! Parts of it made me laugh and I actually highlighted some of it as it was so witty and clever. It reminded me of Cervantes poking fun at novels of chivalry. A fun read
