Ok first let me address the simple editing errors that have driven me nuts in this series book after book. Getting names wrong for the characters that are being thought of or spoken to or anything is really annoying. I don't get how we can be in book 3 and still have these problems please seriously get an editor to do a thorough job.
Ok onto the story. I found the reactions of Caitlin a bit....premature? I surely would have heard Caleb out before assuming the worst.
It will be interesting to see where the story goes from here I'm really curious about _____ not that they went ______. The emotions in the book were on high it seemed for everyone. I definitely like seeing the others POV but sometimes I skip over the descriptions in the book. Overall it reads like an episode to a tv show. I will continue to read the series because I am curious how it all turns out and I'm really rooting for Caleb and Caitlin!
And I will probably gouge my eyes out in the coming books with the errors. I am curious though since I'm e-reading it if those same errors are prevalent in the books, the hard copies? Probably.

This book was absolutely awful
You all know the drill. Here's the spoiler-filled list:

Turns out that Kyle was more effective than the entire plot of the previous book made him out to be! Congrats, Kyle!
- Kyle is a vampire dictator
- This was mentioned in previous books, but expanded here. It turns out that vampires can read minds, but apparently only selectively because they never seem to hear the important stuff. This leads to a lot of unnecessary miscommunication
- Caitlin frequently abandons her wolf puppy, often starving her for possibly several days at a time
- This was a soap opera, with the ex-wife Sarah returning to declare that she and Caleb have a child together. The fact that they are multi-thousand year old vampires doesn't seem to occur to Caitlin as she overreacts about it. She then becomes pregnant with Caleb's child
- Sarah the spiteful ex-wife has a character 180 when she learns of the pregnancy. She dies protecting Caitlin and it is said that they are now best friends, all over the course of like an hour
- There is a bad boy name Cain that Caitlin beats within an inch of his life. Cain quickly disappears from the plot in favor of an instalove bad boy loner type whose name I literally cannot remember. He causes Caitlin to question her feelings for baby daddy Caleb, a truly fruitless effort
- The vampires in this are now elevated from witches to more like angels and demons, with wings and magic swords and everything
- Caitlin's brother Sam (not to be confused with Samantha, Sam's lover, or Caleb's brother Samuel) becomes a vampire. He can shapeshift. He spends the vast majority of the book in rage stupor, becoming BFFs with Kyle
- There is a magic gauntlet with unrivaled power
- Caitlin goes to an island where a band of misfit vampires live. She joins their coven
- Jonah makes a cameo appearance! Forgot about that guy! His dad has the Bubonic Plague
- In a moment of paranoid hysteria, Caitlin murders Caleb, so she goes back in time to save him

I read the first book in this series because it was only $1 on GooglePlay and I like vampires so I figured why not. I did not really like the story all that much but I had to find out what was going to happen next so I read the second and then third one. Half way through this book I realized I just couldn't take it anymore. Caitlin has to be the most annoying, idiotic, childish, and selfish person/vampire that I have ever had the displeasure of reading about. I do not like that the author speaks for so many of the characters because I really don't need 6 different story lines in one book - even if they all lead to the same conclusion. There are so many typos in the books that it becomes difficult to ignore. I've given up on this series. I did manage to finish this book and then I just looked for spoilers to see how the series ends. I must say, I am glad I did not waste anymore of my time on the series.

This was an awesome third book. Loved the action and all the learning that Caitlin had to do. The ending - what a cliffhanger. Fantastic.

I have really enjoyed the story so far which kind of suprises me. Caitlin Paine begins this novel as a full vampire turned by the one she loves Caleb. She acts like a teenage girl overeacting to seeing Caleb and his wife Sera together. She will accept no explaination and she forces Caleb to leave. He leaves her on Pollepel, which is an island in the middle of the Hudson river. She is to recover and train on Pollepel to be a warrior. Aiden is in charge of this island and he is really a God like fatherly figure.Meanwhile, Caleb is attempting to get the sword back from Kyle and the Black coven. Lots of twists and turns. Ends with a cliffhanger.
So what is not to like??? Well there are a lot of editorial mistakes that should have been caught. The first two volumes had some also but there are a lot more in this one. Also Caitlin's actions, even as a teenage girl, are hard to believe. She has fallen in love in her mind with three different guys and we are only on the third volume. Also her jealous reaction to Sera is hard to believe. She won't even listen to an explanation. Over reaction to the tenth power. I can't even picture a teenage girl being that emotional.
Still a compelling read that must be finished.

Being part three of the Vampire Journals by Morgan Rice this book turned out to be more like an episode than a part of a series. It's safe to say that one should start reading with the first part to fully appreciate the story. While I did get an idea of what must have happened before, I felt I missed too much about previous events when I was suddenly thrown into the middle of vampire covens fighting and humans being "turned".
Being a quick read only deepened the impression of it as more of an extended chapter of a novel and it makes me wonder why the author didn't just publish all four parts in one book. I'm not scared of books with more than 500 pages, really! Personally, I hate to judge this book so harshly, because with the interesting characters I encountered in it, and the fast paced narrative, it certainly shows potential for an overall great read.
In short: While not working for me as a stand-alone novel, readers who love vampire stories should definitely give the series in its entirety a try!

Not as impressed with this...
I enjoyed books 1 and 2 but something about this one felt lacking I was still holding on to the hope that the next book would be better, it wasn't and I should just have quit but by the time I read this I'd already bought 4 to 8, for an author like Morgan Rice I'd expect this to be better with not so many mistakes.

getting through pretty quick! still undecided as to if I actually like the books or not. Caitlin is annoying the hell out of me if I am to be honest., falling in love with a guy at the drop of a hat urgh! really!? another new guy..

That ending though 😳 it gets bumped up to 4 stars for that. It was very unexpected, and I am very curious about what is going to happen in the next one. I have some questions and thoughts, of course, but 🤷🏻♀️ I'm just going to go with it.

Much like with the second book in this series, "Loved", I find myself conflicted about how I truly feel about it. On the one hand I found myself enjoying the (majority of) characters much more in this book than I had in the earlier books (seriously, I never thought that I would find myself sympathizing, let almost actually like Sera, Caitlin's nemesis/ Caleb's ex, but I did- nor did I ever expect to find myself liking Sam once again). However, on the other hand, I found the plot of this book to be be cliched, and dare I say it, "Twilight"-esque (I absolutely hate playing the "Twilight" card, but what transpires at the end of this book is totally reminiscent of "Breaking Dawn"), while in the earlier books the plot had, in my opinion, been quite unique.
As mentioned, I found myself liking the majority of characters much more in this book than the others, however, Caitlin was not one of them. In my review of "Turned" I stated that I believed that Caitlin had the potential to be a really kick-ass female character, much like Merit, Dru, or Rose, however, after having read this book I know that she can never hold her own against those females. Much of what she does she does without any thought (and not even like "Vampire Academy's" Rose who says things without giving them any thought and kicks herself later for it), Caitlin seriously does things with NO. THOUGHT. AT. ALL. (and usually she gives no thought at all to the stupidest/ most common sense things ever- ie. leaving the sword behind, the sword which has the power to basically humankind/ vampirekind FOREVER).
Furthermore, insta-love (or close to it) happens once again in this book (and while I could have maybe accepted it had it been between two newly introduced characters it wasn't. It was between Caitlin and Blake- basically they lock eyes at a distance and she cannot get him out of his mind, even though she is in love with Caleb).
All in all, I do think that this book's premise does fall a bit flat, however, I am hoping that the series will be able to regain its stride in the next book of the series, "Destined".

Lord...the mistakes in this book drive me absolutely insane. Things like "offer good," rather than off for good. Another like Caitlin, the main character and her pet wolf Rose being shown around an island by her new friend Polly, and when Polly finishes a sentence is states "Rose said, with another wink." REALLY?!?! Rose...since when did the wolf start talking. Or when the story is told by the writer ad makes mistakes like yourself instead of herself. Another where Caitlin is fighting a coven member, Cain, and interrupted it states Caitlin released her grip and Caitlin scurried out from under her...so she went to fighting with Cain to fighting with herself??? Not to author READ and REREAD your work...and if you do infact have an editor or publisher rather than self editing and self publishing...get your money back! Each of the books are filled with TONS of mistakes like these...

So I was getting hooked on the story line but the actual books are terrible!
Let me elaborate - there is a fantastic story in there - Somewhere! but to me, it feels like it's been stretched out and rushed. Events within this book and characters emotional responses are absurd! Within a paragraph one person has portrayed grief, sorrow and anger? Then Caitlin who feels like she's become an adult faces a mass of tough decisions, yet instead of thinking logically like an adult takes two seconds and 2 sentences later and has made the biggest decision of her life.......
I will continue to read the vampire journals only because I'm intrigued as to how it plays out.... We shall see......

I am not going to write a long review because I am still wiping tears out of my eyes. But this book by far is the best out of the series, a lot of things happened the the reader did not see happening. The author left this book off as a cliff hanger like she did with the other two books. All in all it was good but I don't want to cry in the next book.

I started an finished reading this all on the same day it was so goo. Morgan Rice knows how to keep your attention . I look forward to more of her books...

Morgan Rice, ¿Que puedo decir que no haya dicho ya de esta autora? Sabe cómo hacer que sus libros sean entrega a entrega un vaivén de emociones y que de alguna forma u otra quedes atrapado e intrigado para continuar sus series.
Este libro no es la excepción ya que el final del libro anterior fue...y aquí comenzamos justo donde lo dejamos. Caitlin despierta de su coma tras haber sido convertida en vampiro y comienza a descubrir sus nuevas habilidades y poderes, Caleb y su lobita Rose están con ella.
Aquí nos introducen nuevos personajes que en poco tiempo te roban el corazón y encariñas de ellos, algunos son misteriosos, otros sabios y otros que quisieras sacar del libro y tenerlos de colegas. También vemos el retorno de antiguos personajes y la detención de algunos.
Honestamente me encantó el arco de Sera, lo que pasa explica mucho.
La cofradía de Pollepel los 23 integrantes realmente me gustaron y me encantaría saber más de ellos.
El regreso de Jona...que puedo decir, espero que su arco siga.
Sam y Samantha, vaya que tela con ellos y Kyle, no olvidemos al villano de Kyle y su anarquía en esta entrega.
Caleb y su hermano son un dúo excepcional que te hace poner la piel chinita en cada pelea. Recordemos que Kyle se a apoderado de la espada y a soltado la oeste, causando caos u destrucción. Sin duda un libro lleno de muchos datos, muchas preguntas, pocas respuestas, por ahora y un final con más de un giro de trama que te deja con el famoso cliffhanger que caracterizan a Morgan Rice. Sin duda no puedo esperar a continuar la saga por que vaya final.
Si te gustan los vampiros, con un lore un poco diferente pero más apegado al "original" con muchos giros de trama, drama, risas y más, realmente no puedes perderte está saga. Además de que es ligera, rápida de leer y con una pluma entretenida. Y como un plus, los audiolibros son muy buenos, aunque este tiene un capítulo donde se corta abruptamente, pero nada que afecte tanto realmente y la narradora hace un trabajo exquisito. Así que en definitiva lo recomiendo.

Leaves you salivating for more.. While having the worst "Cotton Mouth" EVER!!!!!
The story is action packed as the cosmos is wide! Although, aggravatingly enough it resides in "teeny, tiny, little packagE"S!!!! That consistently leave me clamouring for more depth into the characters struggles... MANY doors that curiously open within the plot are then abruptly •SHUT•!!! Which is quite hairy at times during the read. I'm not giving a bad review, just my opinion (Which OBVIOUSLY) is yearning/demanding for more. I truly do enjoy these stories..... But to compare this frustratingly lackadaisical read to the "Twilight Saga" is way out of context.

Caitlin and Caleb are torn apart by the vampire war. She’s fully vampire now but needs to learn how to survive in her new reality. Rose and Caitlin are on Pollepel island a training camp for vampires and misfit vampires. Caleb goes to gather forces agains his old coven and Kyle who has the sword. Sam and Samantha are part of the evil Kyle’s coven and being used to draw in Caitlin. Samantha betrayed Sam for a change at power because he’s got an unusual gift. Kyle’s forces captured Caleb and he sends Sam out to kill his sister. Things go terribly wrong and may mean permanent death for Caleb, Caitlin and Rose the wolf. I can’t wait for the next instalment!

This is officially my new favorite series. Literally just returned all my other loans and borrowed books 3 through 11 because I didn't want to have to wait to devour them. I love how the first three are set in places I'm familiar as a new Yorker it was a very nice touch. So many unexpected things Caitlyn s training her pregnancy Sam being turned her killing Caleb sera dying saving Jonah her feelings for Blake Sam being a shape shifter need I go on. Read them if you haven't started already haven't read ya this good since the house of night series!

Perdón pero me debo reír jajaj
Si el anterior elevo un poco mi interés, este lo mato.
No solo el drama de la traición que realmente no es una traición, es un malentendido. El amor de la protagonista que es irreal. La sorpresa a la mitad también, ósea enserio??? era necesario poner eso en el tercer libro?
Y por ultimo esta el final, el cual me desespero porque solo da alas a que siga adelante esa saga.
Realmente es adictivo pero una forma de que no sabes con que otra barbaridad saldrá, y quieres seguir leyendo pero no es un buen libro ni de lejos.

Finished it last year and I am done.
The first book was just ok. It really wasn’t the best, but younger me found it interesting — good for her.
The second book got me actually really excited as the story got interesting for real.
But this … was painful.
I don’t know, but the plot was weird and everything happened too fast and didn’t make much sense to me.
The end was the worst honestly and I don’t even want to know what will happen next. For me it’s just over.

betrayed the vampire journals
This book was a great book. Action packed and fast paced. This book was just as good as the ones before. Caitlin and Caleb find refuge after all there searching.
And as the battle begins lives are in danger more than ever. Caitlin also meets an Ali that she thought would never happen. And she also finds her brother who has problems of his own with becoming part of the worst coven ever. I’m on to the next book I hope you enjoy this book also.

As the books go on in the series, it seems to get better. Surprises happen which makes you go ‘Whaaaa?’ Caitlin has been turned and is a true vampire with awesome powers. Her brother gets turned as well and has set out against her. Caleb is still her love and a little surprise happens with them. On to book four.

Great series. Typos not so great.
I love the series but with all the typos and incomplete sentences, I could only give it 3 stars. I really hope Morgan invests in a better proofreader.

Muy buena trama y secuencias de acción. Más oscura que sus antecesoras. Un final interesante e inesperado para un protagonista. Sin duda que la autora sabe cómo hacer sus finales de cada novela para querer leer el próximo libro. Me encanta su estilo. 4/5 estrellas o un 9.3/10

Yes, betrayal on all fronts, that it's hard to keep up.
However, it is still a deep settled love that causes a willingness not to be parted, not even by death.

LOVED LOVED LOVED!!!
I loved this book, and I had a hard time putting it down, I read it in 2 days because you get so lost in the story. Books 1 & 2 are just as good, and can't wait to read the rest of the series. This series Is definitely one of my favorite vampire series.
