This was an interesting book from a standpoint for it introduces young readers as well as older readers to some categories that are barely ever discussed out in the real world. As such readers are given an introductory show to nature events, cryptozoology, some Fortean events, high risk activities and so much more.

The book is organized into particular sections that explore each subject matter in depth by giving a page to each subject. Furthermore the subject is given a rating of scary faces, a small introduction to what it is and then anywhere from one to two paragraphs. With one paragraph it just gives some details while if it has two paragraphs then one is dedicated to information and then the second to what may cause the item to occur. Furthermore there are in some areas extra information that is included in some information boxes.

What I didn't really like about the book is the grading system. Although the scary faces has a little caption underneath some of them are done for just comedic relief and others are given with no suggestion as to how the author ended up choosing that particular fight-level. All in all the grading level and the scary items would and should normally differ from individual to individual.

All in all it was a decent introduction to the subjects included and one that could make for an interesting read for those who may be quite charmed by what is included within the pages.

Years ago my family developed a strange ritual using this book. My oldest would read one page of it aloud every night before bed, in character as a character of his own invention, named Dane Dangerfighter. A few months ago we decided to do it again for old time's sake. It took a little doing to convince the teenager to re-visit his old role but once he started he seemed to be into it again. The whole performance delights my youngest, who is eleven now. We just finished it tonight.

As for the book itself? It's full of interesting facts and the ratings can lead to spirited discussion about where this scary thing is really scarier/less scary than that other scary thing, so a fun read with kids.

This book is named 100 scariest things on earth on the planet, written by Anna Claybourne, it tells about some things that you need imagine if you are near a black what is the scary rate, or if you meet a shark under ocean, how scary do you think was, i think it's a book that let people wake up from morning to let them have more engergic to listen to teacher, also you can about some what are the scariest thing about, but i think if you don't think about you will not be scare, i look a lot of movies, so my imagination is really good, so i think this is just some jokes.

"100 Scariest Things on the Planet" by Anna Claybourne lists and describes 100 of the Scariest Things in the world. She provides a rating chart (1-5). 5 being completely terrifying, and 1 being not so scary. This book is: well written, informative, and a super fun read...yes, I did say fun! This book is very enjoyable. I would be able to read this book multiple times, and still enjoy it just as much as the first time I read it. Some of the things though, that were the highest 'scare' rating weren't that scary.

Rating: 4 stars because I liked it, though not as much as the others in this series.
Errors: I don't recall any.
Timeline: I think there was some stuff, but I don't recall exactly what it was or where it's at in the book.

I really enjoy this series of books, especially for reluctant readers. These may not be MY scariest things, but some of them certainly strike fear into my heart. In an easy to pick up and put down format, it's a great book to have as a coffee table kind of book or for those kids who say they just don't like reading.

this book would be great for reluctant readers, especially boys. It's got it all sharks, snakes, and death defying stunts! It also is in short paragraph form that is easy to read and highlighted by high quality photographs that grab the readers' attention. I also liked that it provided clarification for new or complex words like "catacombs (underground tunnels)". Great and interesting book!

Not the scariest book I have ever read, but some of the entries in this book made me want to pee myself, namely El Camino del Rey. I will never, do you hear me, NEVER, walk that shit! Great book for grade school readers who love dramatic nonfiction.
