Battle Lord Saga #2

Her Battle Lord's Desire

Rate this book
Besieged by Bloods and placed on a hunger watch, the citizens of the mutant compound of Wallis turn to the one person they pray will help, the Battle Lord of Alta Novis. Despite the fact that they took away the woman the man risked his life to love, they hope he will show mercy and lend aid. They never expected to find Atrilan Ferran alive and thriving as the wife of Yulen D'Jacques.

Yulen sees this as the perfect opportunity to show the citizens of Atty's home compound the power and status his wife wields. But first he, Atty, and his soldiers have to risk the journey against the oncoming horde of blood-thirsty crazies to get there.

Atty is eager to return to Wallis, but one small detail stands in the way of her and Yulen's happiness. He desires an heir, and she is terrified at the thought of becoming pregnant. Worse, the dangerous trek has increased his ardor, and she is running out of excuses why they can't make love.

This is the continuation of Atty and Yulen’s story it’s set roughly five months after the first and things between battle lord and lady are looking good. Messengers from Wallis Atty’s birthplace bring news of attacks by bloods venturing there to assist only strengthens bonds between Mutah and normals and both now with a common enemy the two are at last united in their shared goal.

This also had internal strife between husband and wife there was lots of action and plenty of passion. I very much enjoyed being a part of the everyday life at Wallis and Alta Novis and this also progressed the story in terms of where our lovers are now at. One things for sure there love and devotion is obvious to all and has only strengthened with time. This really was a very enjoyable sequel.

A bit cheesy and clichéd…lots of repeating…a whole lot of nothing happening..totally boring and not so cute and funny compared to the first book. In my humble opinion this book should not have been a novel but a novella. So my rating is 2.5*.

Second book, second pregnancy, no baby:D If battle lord is good guy he should not use passive aggression on his beloved wife

What makes Her Battle Lord's Desire a 4 star review instead of o 5 star review is summed up in the romance portion of the book.....specifically all the sex scenes. Don't get me wrong, I love good, steamy canoodling, but in some stories it can take away from the overall likeability of the book. The naughty times added nothing to the story and came off as being rather bland at that. The charecters are likeable, the world is fascinating, the action is intense and the sex is boring! I think the story would be better if the sexytimes were either not highlighted or spiced up.

Anywho......so a call from Wallis asking for help is answered. Fights and internal struggles while on the journey. Arrival at Wallis and more awesome action takes place leading to the perilous return trip home. Lots of fighting! Lots of love! Further plot development for future installments. Her Battle Lord's Desire is an entertaining read.
