About the author

Robin T. Popp grew up watching Star Trek and reading Nancy Drew, Robert Heinlein, Sharon Green and Piers Anthony. She loved the daring and romantic exploits of heroic characters on grand adventures in otherworldly places. It wasn’t long before she wanted to write such tales to share with others. Though she was forced to take a thirty-year detour through the real world – which certainly wasn’t without its share of adventures – armed now with two masters degrees, a fulltime job and a family, she has taken the first steps toward realizing her original dream of becoming an author.
Too Close to the Sun, a futuristic romance published in July 2003, was her first novel. Out of the Night is her second novel and represents her first foray into another of her favorite alternate realities – the realm of vampires.
Robin lives southwest of Houston, Texas with her husband, three kids, three dogs, two frogs, one rabbit and a mortgage. She is living the American dream.

A great carry on to the series.
Jessica is a vampire hunter, and she won't stop until she kills them all, burning with the fire of revenge.
Detective John Boehler is chasing a serious serial killer, and has no problem going after vampires. Jessica is a problem for him though, and soon John falls victim to something he could never have dreamed of.
Jessica has to lead the way, temting him with a new hunger that only fuels her own.
You just have to read it, and no doubt go looking for the next book in the series as I did.

Guys...This is book three! It stood alone. Lots of sex, sex, sex and the stupidest vampire hunter I have ever read. How did she survive to have a third book anyway? I finished it.

Lo ammetto: l'uscita di questo terzo libro della serie mi era sfuggita, ed ecco perché mi ritrovo a leggerlo a quasi due anni di distanza dal secondo ahahah XD Per fortuna non ci ho messo molto a riprendere i fili del misterioso mondo dei chupacabra, grazie anche all'apparizione dei vecchi protagonisti che aggiornano i nostri nuovi eroi sulle vicende passate XD Devo dire che questo terzo volume mi è parso un po' povero come contenuti, non ci sono grandi colpi di scena (tranne ovviamente quello finale) né una storia d'amore passionale e coinvolgente.... Jessica non mi è piaciuta molto, è un personaggio inconsistente che non sa bene cosa fare della sua vita e segue varie idee folli (come quella di catturare e adottare un chupacabra...o improvvisarsi cacciatrice di vampiri) con risultati a dir poco disastrosi! E' la classica wonder woman testarda che agisce prima di riflettere e costringe tutti i personaggi a corrergli dietro cercando di salvare il salvabile ahahah XD Al contrario John non mi è dispiaciuto, un poliziotto pronto a combattere contro i cattivi, umani e non, che si ritroverà suo malgrado coinvolto in prima linea nella lotta contro i vampiri ma non si tirerà certo indietro e anzi costruirà anche una bella amicizia con uno di loro...ossia la nostra vecchia conoscenza Harris! Nonostante sia stato lui a creare il casino (o meglio il cattivo) che impervia nella storia resta comunque il personaggio più interessante e spero vivamente che l'autrice abbia in serbo una storia per lui prima o poi perché un personaggio così complesso e sfaccettato non merita di finire nel dimenticatoio! (e ogni volta che Dick e/o Mac lo maltrattano, nonostante si faccia in quattro per aiutare i buoni, mi piange il cuore ç__ç)

All of Popp's books in this series turned me onto Vampire books. All the rest PALE in comparison (sorry , couldn't help it) If you want a series that you can sink your teeth into, these are a must read!

Interesting view of vampires. Good and interesting characters. Terrific story line. A highly recommended series. This is number 3.
