Even if it is the second time I am reading it, still I am floored by the emotions such a simple and short story could evoke in me. What is love? Is love something that could arise from dislike or nonchalance? This story does show a life that we Asians are used to. Arranged marriage. Loveless with just a bit of understanding. Unfortunately we are still caught in that cycle. The story touches on that and the five years that transpire between a couple that's given a choice of a marriage that neither wants. Through out those five years they have a simple game between each other. From his perspective it's how to kill her without getting caught. From hers.............. it's completely different.

The author manages to give us a glimpse of a life between two caught in a conundrum. Can he truly put aside his petty stubbornness? Can she truly accept this man? The ending is somewhat bittersweet. Yet we are left happy. This could finally be the true beginning for both of them.

this was short, but still impactful.

i wouldn't lie, I really enjoyed it. every conversation they had in the short amount of words comprised in one whole chapter was crisp, fresh, and hilarious.

the concept is overall cute as well, albeit being cliche and overused in the same time.
