Rae Spencer lives in the beautiful Penns Woods, a country girl at heart, she loves to read and write romance, fantasy, and poetry. She enjoys being out in nature and loves the beauty to be found but her reclusiveness, eccentricity, and dry sarcastic sense of humor gets her in trouble at times. Rae calls herself the ‘black sheep’ of her family, being very different in personality and looks, and relishes the fact. She has a fetish for rock and roll especially bass players, peanut M&M’s, history, genealogy, and coffee.

Rae’s idea of exercise is a few swings of her hula-hoop, dancing around the living room when alone, walking up and down the stairs to do laundry, and taking care of her granddaughter. As an avid dog lover, she supports various pet related causes, and has three dogs: an AmStaff, Border Collie, and Pomeranian. Starting over in multiple aspects of her life, Rae is pursuing her dreams and has released four novella’s “Beyond A Proposition”, “For Everything”, “Only You Butterfly”, “Claiming Her Tomorrows”, and a short story “Cigány Flame” included in the anthology “Indulgence”, all released by Lazy Day Publishing.

Rae believes her love of historical romances played a large role in helping her pass her High School History classes and for cultivating her love of History. She hopes those who read her stories loose themselves for a little while in the story and leave the dredge of reality behind them forgetting their troubles, if only for a few moments.

All I can say is RUN...... As fast as you can from this book!

It was just awful.... It made no sense and as a reader you are left with more questions than answers. The heroine kept leaving her children (who were in their teens) home alone over night so she could go shack up with the hero in a hotel 2 - 3 nights a week for 7 months! All through the book the heroine is working two jobs to support her kids (whom she leaves alone all the time) and states repeatedly how financially strapped she is. Then 81% into the book she is asked to go on tour with a band to play the HARP! WTH? Where did that come from? Did she roll out of bed one morning and decided to become a harpist?
Does the author not know harps cost money "lots" to maintain and you also need to practice. What does the heroine do? Why she sells her house, takes the kids out of school so she can go on tour and the kidos can be roadies . Ummmm.... Okay, The author really thought this whole story/plot out (NOT)!
Also the heroine is so stuck on being older than the hero but your never told what the age difference is...... I mean he could be 12 for all we know!

I recommend you save the cash and skip this one girls..... It was just BAD!

3.5, really. I liked the first 50 or so pages where they got together and had their first rendezvous, then bam next page, we are 7 months into a relationship and told how they are together. I wanted to "see" the development, not be told about it in a few sentences. It was a good book, don't get me wrong but I feel like we missed all the good bits (the building of a relationship) and when she dumps him, you don't really feel her hurt because you didn't get that invested in them as a couple.
Im tempted to read the second but am leery of feeling let down again.

Skye has been divorced for a long time and is lonely. She goes over to a friend's house for a birthday party when the band Ten and Five show up. Will Savage, the lead singer, is known as a ladies man - a girl in every town, so to speak. Skye is shocked he does not have a girl on his arm and he proceeds to try and talk to her. Jake is another member of the band and his wife Cathy, likes Skye and wants to be friends, so Skye gives out her number so they can stay in touch. A few days later Skye gets a text message from Will and this is were the proposition comes into play. Of course Skye knew where he got her phone number: Cathy. Will and Skye are in for a big surprise.

I enjoyed this read. Skye is a character most of us can relate to. She is independent, works hard for her two kids and just wants to find true love. She wants someone to care for her. When she starts this so called relationship with Will she wasn't expecting some of the feelings stirring about. Will is another great character again some can relate to. He wants a friend someone who will listen and someone to comfort him.

There is a twist that makes the ending remarkable. It wasn't what I was expecting, but in a good way. I don't think anyone would be disappointed in reading Beyond A Proposition.

TBH I asked the author for this as it wasn't available in my territory. It's a great debut with (hopefully) more to come! No pressure, tho.
Down to the nitty-gritty - realistic in emotion and dialogue, and a fantasy romance that most women have had so it's familiar yet unique.
