A decent phonics book where children can easily sound out the words. Short story line where a joke was played on the main character Rafe. A very easy read and the words and pictures coincide so the young reader can follow along with the story.

Another "easy to read" book in the Primary Phonics series. While these books are not super engrossing stories, they are a good books for struggling readers, as they contain a lot of repetition of words, with more difficult and new words added as each level of the series progresses. If you have a struggling reader, I would recommend starting at the beginning, and reading each book in each series in order.

Pete, Jane, and Tag (the dog) go to the lake. Tag plays fetch into the lake. Tag was standing on the pier and Pete tripped over him into the lake and brought the bone to Tag. The joke is on Pete.
