Rameshwor Sharma Chalise better known as Ramesh Vikal is a Nepalese writer and painter who is known for his works portraying rural life and the lives of common people in Nepal. Vikal was the first short story writer to be given the Madan Puraskar award.

प्रगतिशील भनिने नेपाली लेखकहरू थोरै वास्तविकता मा धेरै काल्पनिकता जोडेर सबै सामाजिक समस्याहरू एउटै कहानीमा पस्कन्छन। मुख्य कमजोरी के हो भने सबै सामाजिक समस्याहरू देखाए पनि समाधानका उपाय राजनितिक मात्र हुन्छ भन्ने भाव हुन्छ तर वास्तविकतामा त्यसो हुँदैन। कमजोर मानिसहरू बलियाबाट र सोझा मानिसहरू धुर्तहरूबाट ठगिन्छन् जसको समाधान कमजोर सोझासाझा को चेतना वृद्धि र गलत गर्नेहरूलाई कानुनी कारबाही मात्र हुन सक्छ लगभग सबै प्रगतिशील लेखकहरू यो कुरा भन्दा राजनितिक कुरा बढि ध्यान दिन्छन् जुन अबिरल बग्दछ इन्द्रावती मा पनि पाईन्छ।
