I am grateful for the opportunity to be alive and to experience all that life has to offer. Every day is a new opportunity to learn and grow, and I am mindful of the choices I make and the impact they have on my life and the lives of others. I am committed to living in the present moment and being fully present in every experience. I am open to new possibilities and am willing to let go of old patterns and ways of thinking that no longer serve me. I am grateful for the people in my life who support and love me, and I am mindful of the ways I can show my support and love for them. I am also grateful for the challenges I face, as they provide opportunities for me to learn and grow. I am mindful of my thoughts, feelings, and actions, and I am committed to living with intention and purpose. Mindfulness is a practice that can help kids to become more aware of the present moment and to learn to control their thoughts and emotions. A mindfulness journal for kids can be a helpful tool in teaching them how to be mindful. There are many benefits of mindfulness for kids. Born 1959. Grew up in Suburbia (Washington, DC, then Omaha, Nebraska). Kent State University, 1977-82, majoring in Architecture with minors in Partying and the Society For Creative Anachronisms. Then moved to North Carolina, and never left.
Worked as draftsman to local architects for 15 years; also as movie-theatre projectionists, census clerk, hobby-shop staff.
Volunteer DJ at WXDU, Duke student radio, 1986-2009.
Member of Carolina Bear Lodge (gay fraternal order) and St. John's Metropolitan Community Church.
Married my husband Robin unofficially in 2005, legally in 2015.
