I've bought this cookbook from a charity shop and it is as new and it was fascinating to see the pictures of chefs we know today when they were younger. Amongst the 14 chefs were Atol Kochhar, Michael Caines, Galton Blackiston, Sat Bains, Bryn Williams, Matt Tebbutt, Marcus Wareing, Richard Corrigan, and Nick Nairn. They all just looked so young! However I forgot to factor in when I bought this book was that they were young chefs competing from their region to cook for a banquet for the Queen so the recipes would be showcasing their talents. Therefore not the stuff you would make at home after a day at work and a hungry family looking for a meal right now!
The meals were obviously "chef-y" except from one recipe from Bryn Williams who's recipe for welsh lamb stew was really nice and easy and even I could make that! And I did. And very tasty it was too! i'm afraid that this book will be heading back to a charity shop when I'm next in town. I mean I don't keep cookery books just for 1 usable recipe! (Bryn's recipe is now in my ownbook of collected recipes).
