Wow wow wow! This is an AMAZING read! I think I still have chillbumps from reading this, I do know that I still have tear stains down my face. What an amazing short story! This story grips you right from the start with its smart, thoughtful and intense dialog, then ends in a "train-wreck" that will leave you emotionally drained.
I don't normally go for short stories because they always leave me wanting more. But... this one is just enough! Not too short, not too long, its perfect!

A very very good short story. I didn't expect such to happen, but his usual behaviour gave me some hints. I like the description and how their problem was emphasised. It made me feel sad. It gave me a sense of that you should make everyday like it is the last. You don't know what will happen next.
I didn't read the summary, actually, as well with the title. Hence, the shock is doubled. I didn't know it would be like it.

This short story about a troubled marriage works on different levels, like a Beethoven symphony, and stays with you long after you have finished it. Melanie and Paul seem to have really serious relationship problems. The dialogue is clean, witty and somehow desperately realistic, like a Tennessee Williams of the 21st century. I did not expect it to end the way it did; the ending blew me away. I'm looking forward to reading more from Wendy L. Young.

This was a story about Mel and Paul, who are having problems. The dialogue is well written and very realistic with a plot twist thrown in at the end that you don't expect at all. I do think that to expand the story would make it much better. It has a lot of potential but falls short in it's length.

This book (although short!) threw in a complete surprise which I never saw coming. It was touching and really makes you think about how you say things to the one you love. Quick book which can be read in an afternoon or even a couple of hours.

I read this story so many months ago and had not gotten around to reviewing it. I just finished reading it for the second time so my thoughts of this poignant story would be fresh. I feel I can write a book on my impressions but will reserve those words for my official site.
One Final Night is a journey every man and woman should take because you never know when a conversation might be your last, or their last. Those words need to count for something; otherwise, one may be left with regret to last a lifetime.

on top of the glaring grammar and spelling mistakes this story was predictable and cliche. obviously the marriage wont work when the wife is made out to be an angry shrew who just nags everything nice the husband tries to do for her. and the big "twist" was obvious from the first page. dont waste your time.

A very good short story. This short story changes totally from the beginning to the end. Didn't see it coming. Don't read the preview and judge it on the preview. The story is a very good thought provoking story.

A punch in the gut that you never see until it hits you, loved this story although it made me bawl my eyes out it also made me thankful for my own husband and my life with him for the past almost 30 years!

This was a pretty good short story. It is about the reality of all marriages, the ups and downs, the good and the bad, and the importance of paying attention to the good times and remembering to say I love you. 3 stars.

Good, short, but be ready to cry! Super sad and not a happy ending. That being said, I couldn't stop myself from reading the whole story hoping things would change. The husband deserved a second chance!

"This was a wonderfully sad, make you re-think life book. It is a one sitting read, but the shortness does not take away from the almost perfection. The twist couldn't have been wrote better and certainly one that I did NOT predict which is very unusual for me."

Short, sweet, and to the point. This was a very nice short story. I was completely surprised with the way it ended. Good read!
