Last night I played a game of Erotica Roulette.

Basically, this is how it went down : Since I was sick and unable to focus on either of the full-length books that I was reading, I decided to pull a random short story from my "MASSIVE PILE O' PORN WITHOUT PLOT (pwp)" and have at it, WITHOUT having read the summary.

I figured that if anything was going to keep my attention, it would be sex without world building. Go with me here, I was out of it. My mind was *cough* foggy. I needed mindless.

Note to self : next time, just pull from the Selena Kitt pile. At least that way, I'll enjoy the sex.

I'm sure that there are a definitive group of people who have a chastity belt fetish and hey, that's great. Everyone has their kink. I now know that I am not one of these people.

Picture it like this : swap out a collar for a belt and you'll get the idea. It's kind of cool in theory, actually. The belt symbolizes ownership in place of a traditional D/s situation. The woman gets no sexual pleasure without the man taking off the belt and allowing it.

But all I could think about is the unsanitary and disgusting side to it all. No wiping? Eww...what kind of odors are happening when that belt comes off, if a person has to wear it for more than an hour or two?

The "sex performance club" was strange to me. I can't really explain why, since I've read about others in books. In this instance, it seemed sort of written on the fly and not really fleshed out. Stuff just happened, but it wasn't patrons being spontaneous - it was employees, one of whom just showed up and got started with no training or detailed pre-work discussion. It's okay to hand over a license and you're immediately good to get naked on stage with people you don't know?

Someone out there is crying, "Shut up, Stacia. It's a fantasy." Fair enough. I get the point. This just wasn't the right fantasy for me. I was never shown what was attractive about the Master character. He sort of seemed like a creeper from where I was sitting, and not in the sexy kind of way. *edit* I just read that last sentence again and I did not mean to say that creepers are sexy. I think I meant...aw, nm. I just meant that he wasn't a sexy Dominant type.

To each their own. If you have any sort of exhibitionist fantasy (normally this is a big plus for me, so I'm sorry the story didn't work in my favor), you might enjoy Chastity Belt

I knew as soon as I saw the cover and read the blurb for Chastity Belt that I was going to enjoy it – and I did! Big Time!

Ms Evers has an enviable knack for turning an old kink into something new, fresh and exciting. Although to say I enjoyed this book is perhaps not the right word, it made me laugh and cry for Georgia, I felt her pain, every single thrash, and boy did I sympathize with her frustration, it brought tears to my eyes at times – but hey – isn’t that what chastity belts are supposed to do?!?

The hero, Jonathan, had enough dark dominance to stir my interest, and as the story progressed he became very likeable, which was a good thing otherwise I don’t know how comfortable I would have been with him keep clicking on the belt. And the way in which Georgia comes to wear it, in GC, well that club produces some smolder off the page scenes right through this fabulous book. Phew! Let’s just say these two are a match made in heaven with their matching fetishes and their fondness for an audience.

In summary a red hot read with lots of kink and spice, beautifully written with lots of characters you invest in. Grab yourself a glass of iced water and a fan before you sit down and indulge.

The novella starts off with a bang, flows smoothly and the dialog is realistic. I’ve read Shoshanna Evers’s other books (Ginger Snap, Punishing the Art Thief, Hollywood Spank) and this is her best one, yet!

I must say that a book featuring orgasm denial as a central theme caught my attention and I had to give the book a read. Don't judge, but locked into a chastity belt conjures up so many delicious visions of kinky situations and takes dom/sub "ownership" to a whole new level. So the book had the makings of a sexy read for me...and it didn't disappoint.

Chastity Belt is well-written and delivered some interesting sex scenes, some of which I have not encountered in other books...so that was pure delight! However, at times I wanted to "feel" the heat rather than feel like I was being told about the heat. There were more opportunities (in my humble opinion) to get into the female character's head, to feel her frustration of being locked into the chastity belt, and the intense pleasure she felt when released from it's hold. Don't get me wrong. It was described okay, but I wanted more "cowbell." That had me knock off a star, but it was still worth the read for a quick thrill.

I guess with a chastity book story one does not say that it made my panties melt and drop to the floor...technically the correct verbiage is "it made my chastity belt fall to the floor with a clink." LOL Enjoy.

Ms. Evers shows her creativity in the BDSM realm yet again with Chastity Belt. While the heroine had experimented with a little BDSM before, it wasn't until she fell into the hands of a master that she found true ecstacy. With some M/F/F and F/F action.

Horrible. Writing style was ok, but story was a fantasy like writing. Very immature characters, extremely made up events...

BDSM is badly betrayed in this book with no really connection. This is the type of story that gives BDSM a bad name.

I think while I'm not an active participant in the BDSM community, I do read real authors to get some idea of what to do and what not to do. Overall, I think this book focuses on sex and not enough on the craft. I don't think Shoshanna is a bad author, but I didn't find myself too interested in this book. I have a thing, I guess, against chastity play, and that comes from a more dominant position than a submissive. As someone who has to go to the bathroom a lot for hydration, it's imperative that you hydrate these days, which means going to the bathroom a lot. I don't think it's a bad book. From what I could tell from her Twitter and profile, Shoshanna is a very popular author. But don't take this as a bad book, it's not, just not for me, that's all.

I am so confused. Shit.....how do I write a review for a book that was just as thin as a magazine ( or even thinner)? Okay...this book was a total surprise. Let´s say that when this book arrived in the mail....I couldn´t stop laughing. Novella´s these days are getting so so small. But hey...for 5 euros ( 6,88 dollars ) I couldn´t complain much.

Let´s start with what I read about the book, shall we? Or better...what got me interested:

See.....when I read that on Goodreads, I was like: " Hell, let´s give this one a try!". And believe it or not, I actually liked it. * shaking my head and can´t stop laughing *
This story has 74 pages. Can you imagine how fast I finished this book? This was such a quick read. A really good quick read.


When a novella is that small, you can imagine how the story will be, right? Short ( d´uh ) and not very informative. NOT THIS book. Honestly....I was totally surprised while reading Chastity Belt. It had good characters and the story was unique. Everything was fast, but well paced. And let´s not forget the authors writing style. I enjoyed that too! It´s just such a shame that this book didn´t have more pages. I absolutely believe this could have been a great 374 page book. The potential is there to make something more out of it all.

Now to the things I didn´t enjoy so much.
Yes...the title basically says it all. Chastity Belt. Georgia gets one on after performing at a BDSM club ( the GC ) by a guy named Jonathan. There´s enough kinky stuff in this book to satisfy any erotica reader, but I didn´t get off on the F/F scenes. That and when Georgia invited her BFF to play with her and her new boyfriend. That was something I could have done without. Other than that....I really thought this was an enjoyable read. ( as far as you can enjoy 74 pages )

I can see why Shoshanna Evers is a Bestselling Erotica Author. She can write pretty good scenes.

So, if you´re looking for an enjoyable, kinky as hell, sexy, and fun read....get this book, or novella, or small novella. It´s fun :-)

Now...because of the F/F parts and the fact that I cut my slices of bread thicker than this novella, I´m going to rate Chastity Belt with a 3. Good story, but to short for my taste.

Little did she know that Jonathan would do just that--secure one on her and lock her up! Thinking that he would release her once the show is over, Georgia is upset that he refuses to unlock her.

Jonathan's been seeking the right woman for awhile and Georgia hits all the right buttons for him. So of course he keeps her locked up. Free-spirited Georgia likes sexy, domineering men and takes off under Jonathan's hand. The sparks fly when the two get it on. This story has light girl-on-girl action (kissing), teasing, denial, and MFF.

CHASTITY BELT is a quick and wicked read with a happily ever after (HEA). Since I'm a sucker for HEAs and parts of the book are hilarious, I highly recommend this book for a fun kinky read.

You have to read it and than you have to decide if you like

It was alright.

I didn't feel as if the subject title of the book played a very central part in the story. If it was left out, then the story would have remained largely the same. It just doesn't really explore the whole chastity thing, because once it's on it's off on the next page. So it's more of a plot device than a theme.
I liked the characters. Their personalities aren't super deep or anything, but being a fairly short story, they work fine.

At no point in the story am I put off completely, but I'm never completely blown away either. So as said, it's alright. A nice, quick read.
