This is a really short, indispensable preview of the three part Hargrove series by T.S. Jones! Being sold, initiation into the castle and learning all occur in the life of nine-year-old Lars Hargrove. However, the poor little lad is exposed to a horror he wasn't prepared for...

Mmph...Tambo, you definitely don't pull any punches. Like your story "Morgan's Run", the scene of child abuse hits so hard it almost makes me physically ill, and I wind up wanting to reach into the book and hurt some folks. And to imagine Lars (or -anyone- at that age) being witness...sheez.

You've managed to put a novels worth of drama into a surprisingly small number of pages. Can't wait to read more. :)

this is the prequel to the lars hargrove trilogy. i liked it, thought it explained a lot of parts in the book.
