Isak Kasper is one of the world’s leading extreme athletes. He is known for being the first to try new extreme sports, such as volcano surfing. However, something is that spark of excitement deep in his stomach that always came from his sporting adventures. When he is offered a lucrative deal in testing the future of virtual reality gaming from a super secretive company, Vertex, he decides to take them up on their offer. After he arrives at a classified location and is teamed with highly trained military personnel, the testers find out there is more to this game than they realized. As team members start dying and developing serious physical wounds from the game, Isak realizes that they need help if they are to survive. A mysterious presence in the game arrives and the gamers learn to trust her. Her presence sets off waves, both in and out of the game, that turn the developers against each other and unveil the workings of a conspiracy that has been implemented in the game’s coding. Not only is the alien coding causing the physical injuries, it is changing the very DNA of those affected, which will wreak havoc on humanity if it is allowed to be shipped out of the facility. Now the gamers must survive the game and take out the alien coding before the new consoles are shipped out worldwide.
