All The World Is Singing: Glorifying God through the Worship Music of the Nations

Rate this book
This first-of-its-kind collection of stories documents the power of music within the global Body of Christ. Agencies and churches around the world show how music has made as much impact in reaching the unreached as other methods of evangelism. Many of the stories come from far-off, exotic places where missionaries and musicians quietly fulfill their calling to encourage people groups to offer their indigenous songs to the Lord. These worship stories remind us that day by day, year by year, melody by melody, rhythm by rhythm, the great rehearsal is underway, awaiting the time when we join our voices with people from every tribal group and language in a continuous praise gathering proclaiming endless worship to God. A CD of indigenous worship music is included.

This book paints a good picture of how people are released to worship, compose and create using their own "heart language" and musical styles. The chapters are fairly short and it feels like a whirlwind tour of different countries. I would say some chapters are very similar in terms of the content, but I guess that makes it all the more encouraging. A fab book for anyone interested in Ethnodoxology - especially great for those from a Western background.

took me a long time to finish this book simply because I've been reading it at work on lunch breaks when that was possible. the format of small chapters lent themselves well to that. I enjoyed the book although it is a bit repetitive even from different countries. essentially the message is people like to sing in their language with their hair obstruent and I believe that is accurate. thank you JAARS for publishing this book. I enjoyed it
