Screenprint

Rate this book
Popularized in the 1960s by Pop artists such as Andy Warhol, screen printing remains a favorite of artists due to its remarkable versatility and relatively low cost. In Pulled, best-selling author Mike Perry (Hand Job, Over and Over) collects the work of more than forty of today's most talented designers who are, in their own way, pushing the boundaries of this dynamic medium.

Collection of screen printed pieces from current working artists. Screen printing is neat and all, and the book was informative and competently assembled, but I didn't care for much of the actual artwork. Some talented folks, just not my new favorite poster book.

Several examples of uses of screen printing, mostly related to design. Some fine ideas but maybe a bit too palatable in order to be really adventurous

I was advised to buy this by my tutor last year and I finally got round to getting a copy! This is a lovely book with gorgeous examples of screen print. The visuals are so good and are a massive help with my research during print modules. This isn't the best book if you want to learn to screen print but its definitely good inspiration and I doubt any artists would regret it taking space on their shelves.

The style of the prints is overwhelmingly of-the-moment and doesn't entirely resonate with me, but despite that the examples gave me lots of ideas for playing with the medium and with imagery layers in general.

I was hoping to get some tips and tricks on screen printing, but this book is just a showcase of the author's art. Not even a single "how I did this" comment. It just wasn't what I was looking for.

Visually a very cool book, but little on the how-to. However the very begining does have one of the best how to screen print comics (?) I have seen thus far.
