Tracy Quan is the author of the Nancy Chan trilogy.

Diary of a Jetsetting Call Girl, her latest novel, is a 21st century adventure with a medieval twist. When Nancy travels to sunny Provence, hoping to escape her problems in New York, she discovers that the French countryside is 'ten times trickier than Manhattan.' Nothing in this temporary world is quite what it seems... Sex worker zealots. Mary Magdalen's relics. A Wall Street Viagra junkie. And a stolen dildo. Add a suspicious husband and you've got one deeply confused call girl, anxious to save her reputation and forced to make some rather unexpected decisions.

The Nancy Chan novels are published in more than 14 languages. Diary of a Manhattan Call Girl was recently published in Vietnam.

Terrible! Only read it because I read the first one (which was also terrible) and thought I would give the author a second chance ... wish I hadn't bothered.

Main character still as unlovable, could not relate to her at all. I mean who stops taking cocaine because it makes your hair grey??? Bizarre book and please don't waste your time ... if you pick this book up ... best advice, put it down again.

If you really want to know...and therefore probably have no life experience...how many ways to pleasure a man over 50, such as threesomes and bouncing around as a dominatrix then read this book. If however, you have your own good sex life and just wanted a good book to read I wouldn't bother. A few racy moments, but apart from that not much going on. the narrator is quite self-involved and I felt hard to continue reading without wanting to grab her by the lapels and shout 'you are a hooker (sorry escort!) shagging about behind your husbands back and quite enjoying it'. I am not a prude, but found myself morally defensive towards Nancy's husband. I quite enjoyed the first book, but couldn't get into this one with the same vigour whilst wanting to slap the main character.

The second book in this series is not quite as exciting or as trashy as the first and third books so it falls a little lower in my rating but still an alright easy read!

~ Have you ever picked up a book for it's intriguing title ? Well, Diary of a married call girl by Tracy Quan was one of such picks of mine. I bought this in a sale and after getting into it, I got to know that this is a sequel of Call Girl Series by the author. But no issues if you read this second book directly.
~ The title pretty much describes the plot; a call girl managing her duties as a wife and as a hooker. The twist in the plot is that her husband is unaware of the fact that her carnal arts are not only for his satisfaction. The book further tells about a chain of call girls who are friends and sometimes they have a same client at a same time. Protagonist Nancy tells us about her hooker friends along with her own life in 318 pages.
Nancy is up to date with her married life, being a good wife but issue arises when her husband wants to start a family. She becomes paranoid as pregnancy can jeopardize her job which she absolutely loves.
~ Considering this an erotic novel, the writer has managed to hit the brief. There are a couple of episodes of Nancy and her friends satiating their clients. For a newbie, this can be a good beginner erotic novel. However I did not find author's writing style captivating which made this a really long read of 20 days for me. Also, I cannot digest author's idea of a wife, hiding about herself being hooker from her husband. If our protagonist loved her profession as a call girl, then why did she decide to get married? And if she loved Matt as well as carnal arts, can't she try all of them with him? Is it really easy to love someone and feel good after sexually pleasing someone else? Continuing the previous question, in what situation is she actually happy ?

I found these books after watching the Showtime Series which is based on/inspired by them: Secret Diary of a Call Girl. I wanted to read them since I liked the tv series quite a bit. I got these books through Paperbackswap.com because they were not at my library in any form. I thought it was more the protagonist's job or perhaps some steamy sex scenes that made them undesirable to the library. Turns out, it probably had more to do with lackluster demand. The books were alright but nothing outstanding. This book is okay. Interesting enough that I could continue to read if I had time but easily able to put it down. Fun little insights into the industry and definitely more chicklit than erotic. The novels are written by a former call girl. In the first book, the main character, Nancy, has a fiance who knows nothing of her being a call girl. Her confidante, Ben is Nancy's best friend and ex-boyfriend from her university days. She also has a madame and two call girl friends who complicate her life. She is trying hard to keep her two personas and two lives from colliding.

In the second book, Quan continues the story of Nancy Chan, now married and still working she has kept her apartment for meeting her Johns. Nancy struggles to juggle the demands of her professional life and keeping her marriage intact. Meanwhile, friends and family seems on the verge of revealing or discovering her secret. Can she keep both her lives separate? For how long?

Had forgotten the entire plot to this so was like reading it for the first time again. Enjoyed this slightly more than the first one tho it still left some questions unanswered from the first book. Is Charmaine the same one from the first book who was being blackmailed by a 10 year old? It never mentions it. And how did she and Allie get out of that one? I want to know. I still don't understand why Nancy bothers with Allie. She's annoying, stupid and not the person you want to mix with if your keeping being a call girl secret. Still feel sorry for Matt who still is in the dark, the end of the book hints that Nancy is about to quit but I know she doesn't because there is another book in the series.

In this irreverent take on infidelity and modern marriage, newlywed topflight prostitute Nancy Chan finds herself struggling to adjust to the realities of domestic bliss. As the wife of an investment banker, Matt, she is working hard to hone her respectable image—cooking fashionable meals, handling household chores, and maintaining appearances. But with both of them now sharing a home, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep her career as an exclusive call girl a secret. While Nancy fears what might happen if Matt finds out, she’s also unwilling to give up her financial independence. And now, Matt wants to start a family, adding another layer of complications. Motherhood could put her business at risk—and she’s not sure she’s willing to sacrifice her body or career for it. The question remains: will Nancy have to give up her secret life to save her marriage?

While the premise had the potential to be an entertaining and thought-provoking read, I found this book to be disappointing. The protagonist’s dilemmas—balancing marriage, career, and independence—could have been engaging, but the execution fell flat. The humor felt forced, the characters lacked depth, and the plot never truly gained momentum. It also doesn’t work well as a standalone book, being the second in a trilogy. I hadn’t read the first, and after reading this, I have no interest in going back to it. The story failed to create any emotional connection or investment in Nancy’s journey, making it a frustrating read rather than an enjoyable one.

Overall, this book did not live up to its premise, and I wouldn’t recommend it. If you’re looking for a sharp, witty take on relationships and secrets, there are far better options out there.

If you read the first, and at least semi-enjoyed it, that is how you will feel about the second. while many do not like the author (or can't seem to connect with her), I found myself easily able. This novel is mainly about how Nancy will continue her career even during marriage. But, if you look at the larger picture, it is about how a woman (and a man come to find out), hide major secrets from their partners after marriage. We all have a secret that we don't want people to find out, whether it be our husband, boyfriend, family or boss. I found this book to be less of a "beach read" than I so readily described the first.

I know its 2nd in a trilogy (I didn't read the 1st which doesn't seem to have made much difference really) but like none of the plotlines were tied up. I don't care enough to read the 3rd but it would have been nice to get a conclusion to some aspect??
overall could've been worse but also I think I could've read something better

It's kind of expected that most people will hate a book about a call girl, especially one who is married. So, people will be happy to argue that I shouldn't have picked up a book if I thought married hookers ain't my deal but then again, I gotta be honest. I was intrigued when I picked up this book. I mean, who wouldn't be? About 5 people had asked to lend this book from me once I was finished.
The title itself is so intriguing, right? You wonder: how does she get away with it? How does she manage two lives? I wanted to find some answers. Hence, I found myself buying this book (especially since it was on sale and cost about a dollar).
I have to admit, I was disappointed from the start. For starters, it didn't help that this book is a sequel and I had never read the first part. Nor did I want to read the first one. Also, the MC, Nancy was so annoying. She kept belittling her friends and she had zero regard for her husband (unless it was time for sex). Yes, I get the fact that she's a call girl and she shouldn't be guilty about cheating on her husband but I at least wanted her to admit that she was cheating on her husband! And she made a big fuss about her being a "working girl" throughout the book. It didn't help that all of her friends were total bitches and the story was extremely lackluster. There are only a few things that happen in the entire book like Nancy's friend getting stalked online, Nancy and her husband trying for babies (against her will) and this girl Charmaine getting Botox treatments. There was nothing significant happening and overall, the book just seemed a drag as thought the author was trying to make her book as long as possible. I wanted an exciting book about some girl having fun but all I got was a cold-hearted woman hell bent on convincing us she's loyal to her husband. Bleh.

~*~*~*~ RE-READ REVIEW ~*~*~*~

Trigger warnings for possible transphobic judginess of an MTF person (though it's not clear in the book if they're trans or have a crossdressing kink).

As delightfully trashy as the first. More hijinks ensue. Slightly less entertaining than the first, but only because Nancy's stodginess and increasing bimbo qualities get annoying.

B Not as good, and you don't really see Nancy's motivation for working as a hooker when she loves her husband so. Works out too neatly in the end. Things for these hookers are a bit too nice…no stinky clients or assholes, all easy regulars.

Trashy chic lit part2. How she expected to balance been married while still hooking amazed me. And oh yes, her conscience kept doing a number on her. I thot - get over yourself girl, you don't want to admit that you are enjoying yourself.

I bought this in Asdas as it was only £1. Now I know why, really couldn't get into this. I think I read the diaries of a call girl a few years ago and this is the sequel but I started it last night and after reading the first two chapters i have given up.

This book is definitely not for the sex shy lol, quite a good read but I realised half way through that its part of a series and its the 2nd book! You can read it as a stand alone book but I found getting to know some of the characters quite hard.

I was expecting something like the Showtime's series, and I got exactly that. While the book did graphic material, it never seemed out of place or over the top. Reading it was like listening to someone tell their story.

There really wasn't a lot of plot to this one, it essentially was a diary-like format. It brought up several events that could change everything but then the book ended. I kept wondering if I missed something ... (perhaps this is part of a series?)

I've liked all of Tracy Quan's books - they are open, honest, detailed and funny. As a former sex worker herself, Tracy offers a unique insight into the life of a high class call girl. A great read, but I would advise reading them in order because the story follows on from one novel to the other.
