Ted Gray was a family friend of my grandmother's from her hometown in Jack County, Texas. I read her autographed copy of the book while staying with my grandparents and was able to ask her about some of the people mentioned in the stories. The descriptions of cowboy life on the big ranches in West Texas in the 40s and 50s were fascinating. "Estates are not built on 8 hour days."

Really lives up to the Old West legends. I think Ted must of been ten feet tall.

Very good story, and very well told. Much more detail about what the life was really like on the ranches of that area. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
