When New Jersey PI John Preshin meets Liz Atwater, his landlady's gorgeous granddaughter, he embarks on his toughest case yet as he tries to win her heart. Original.
This was a great book! It was a bit of an abrupt ending but the plot and the twists and turns were well thought out and exciting. I was a little disappointed with the strange spelling and grammar mistakes throughout but they didn’t affect the story; just made me rethink the publisher. Loved all the characters! Wish there was more to Barbara’s and Liz’s stories, and more to Flo’s recovery / return. Would I read it again? Yes. Do I wish it was also a series? Also, yes. Thoroughly enjoyed but took too long for me to read and get into.

Picked this up at a local library book sale not knowing anything about it. Cute Mama Mia like story set in Monmouth County, NJ. While the story was entertaining, I loved the references to Asbury Park and other places. It made me fondly reminisce about my years on the Jersey Shore. ❤️
"New Jersey PI John Preshin takes on all kinds of jobs. Discreet inquiries. Private investigations. Helping women find lost... articles of clothing from his office. Yup, no job too big or too small. Now if only he could figure out how to convince the knockout readhead iwth the very large knife that he's not breaking into her grandmother Flo's apartment. No. He's Flo's upstairs tenant. In need of a serious cup of coffee. Yeah, so he's wearing only a towel. So what?
Liz Atwater isn't about to take her eyes off this one - and not just because he's about six feet worth of smirking, hunky gorgeousness, either. She's had her share of bad luck with men, and some half-naked guy helping himself to your coffee while looking you up and down is not a good sign. Something's going on with Mr. John Preshin. And Liz intends to do some discreet investigating of her own. He'd better hang on to that towel..."
Despite the cutesy (cheesy) cover, this book had some dark undertones that would have done well in the Mystery/Thriller genre. A fast read but nothing memorable.
Glory Days was smart, believable, and funny with a splash of drama and suspense thrown in. I really enjoyed the book. Anyone from Jersey will catch all the inside jokes and recognize the setting easily. You might even smell the salt water of Asbury or the stench of the Turnpike. :-)I finished the book with a smile on my face, glad for a nice, neat, and happy ending.
The story is about a detective that goes on a search to find out who a teenager's father is, and there are other secrets to be learned later in the book. There is also a woman who has been affected by a tragedy. The romance aspect seemed more of a subplot. It is well-written and interesting. Nice work by this author.
