Australian, Nikki Logan, lives on the edge of a string of wetlands south of Perth, Western Australia with her partner and a menagerie of animals. She writes captivating, nature-based stories full of romance in descriptive natural environments for Harlequin Enterprises and Entangled Publishing. She believes the danger and richness of wild places perfectly mirror the passion and risk of falling in love.

Nikki wrote her first full-length book in 2007 ('Wild Encounter' a romantic suspense set in the wilds of Zambia amidst the wildlife smuggling industry) when she needed a project to fill six months of accrued annual leave. Well and truly bitten by the writing-bug, she wrote a number of category-length novels after her return to work and hasn’t stopped since. She’s written fifteen books for Harlequin and now Entangled as well.

Nikki’s determined to reveal through her writing what she finds so enriching, courageous and tenacious about wildlife. Writing nature-based romance is the perfect opportunity to blend what she loves reading with what she loves doing and maybe sneak beautiful creatures and their environments into fertile reader imaginations all over the world through beautiful love stories.

Actually 3.5 stars

After the death of her husband and young son in a sailing accident, wildlife researcher Honor Brier has exiled herself on a small Australian island with only turtles and birds for company. Until marine archaeologist Rob Dalton gets distracted looking at her and runs his ship into the coral reef. They're safe, and rescue workers are needed elsewhere, so they're told to sit tight until they can bring what he needs to fix his boat. Isolated on the island, can a recluse and a playboy get along?

This is a fairly standard romance novel. It's cute, with some emotional weight brought out by Honor's tragic loss. The writing is good, and the plot and characters are solid, but the book is pretty formulaic. It's a good beach read -- entertaining, but ultimately forgettable.

Marine archaeologist Rob, the hero, finds himself stuck on the uninhabited island of Pulu Keeling after his boat suffered damage. On the island is also conservation researcher Honor, the heroine, whom lives on the island for the majority of the year researching and tracking wildlife. With no help being able to arrive for a week, they are forces to spend timer together. Physically and emotionally scarred Honor recognised Rob for the shameless playboy he is and wants nothing to do with him, and Rob finds Honor blunt and abrasive. As they get to know one another they both have to face up to their own inner demons and issues and realise they may be falling for one another.

Be warned, this is a book that will have you on the verge of tears at times. I adored it from start to finish. The 'deserted island' idea may seem like a cliché, but believe me, it's nothing like that. The two characters are fantastic; Honor's pain and loneliness jumps off the page and her standoffish attitude really helps to make her character very three dimensional. Nikki Logan has created her with such honesty, which I really responded to, after all how does someone cop with that kind of tragic loss (read the book, I'm not going to tell you what it is!). I didn't really 'get' Rob's leading of two lives, but perhaps that's just me, however I liked his character and felt he was genuine in his want to help Honor. The passion and chemistry between the characters really lights up the pages, there is no actual sex but I think this makes it even more steamy. The emotional depth in this book is quite surprising and it really draws you in and keeps those pages turning.

The nature and wildlife of the island is described beautifully, and I loved reading it. I now have some new knowledge about Marine turtles that I have wowed my husband with! You can tell by reading Nikki's books that she is incredibly passionate about nature.

Thoroughly recommended.

Marooned on a deserted island paradise on Pulu Keeling, near the Cocos, similar to Robinson Crusoe with a playboy character, Honor Brier, a conservationist just wants to be alone with her turtles and birds.
Honor's been completely heartbroken and just wants to recover in peace on her perfect island paradise until Rob Dalton comes along.
Honor has set-up her new home perfectly on her island paradise, complete with a sunflower tent.
Take joy in her adventures on the island and how she finds being shipwrecked with an unknown man may be the best way to be Castaway.

Shipwrecked with Mr Wrong can be the right thing to do!

Sand dunes, tropical fish in abundance, lagoons and turtle hatching with thousands of birds inhabitating this island make this the perfect holiday read.

Wow! So hard to rate this book because it was so hauntingly, achingly sad and a little scary. But the setting was beautiful and the characters careers were quite interesting. So much pain but love overcame all in the end but I'm wondering if the pain didn't overshadow the romance and the escapism these books usually provide. Would like to give it a 5 because of the intensity of emotions it triggered but only a 3 for the mushy gushy stuff. Good book but a little deeper for me than I expected.

I really enjoyed this book and watching the dance between Honor and Rob. Honor has a lot of baggage to deal with. She's been hiding out doing a job she cherishes (watching the native life on an island) but this is interrupted by the sexy stranger who maroons himself there. Honor's past is a difficult one for her to get over and it really is a heart-wrenching story. The emotion depth was well done.

I wanted to love this one more than I did. The setting really appealed, but I couldn't seem to connect with either of the characters, and since there was literally no one else for them to interact with, I didn't feel that I got to see more than one side of either of them. Having said that, the background details were wonderful, and the research into them shone through without being overwhelming.

I was set to rate this as much higher. The wallowing didn't bother me so much (ahem, remind me of myself a bit, ahem). The part that did bug me was the end, where it all came together in a mad rush and the speeches and the everything turning out perfect, it was all a bit too much.

So I was going to give 2 stars, but the cute stuff with the wildlife stopped me at 3.

For me, not enough happened in this book. I love damaged characters and a bit of angst, but there was a bit too much of it in Shipwrecked with Mr. Wrong. The book was 90% introspection with a little bit of turtle watching mixed in. I guess the word Shipwrecked drew me in, and even though I read the back, I was hoping there'd at least be a bit of peril in the story.

This book started so well. I liked Rob and I liked Honor and I loved the setting. And then Honor turned into a bitch and the setting stopped really being part of the story and it ended up down right ridiculous. Boooo.

It has a good beginning, the heroine was a Debbie Downer, but I could overlook for a while, then became too much and I just couldn´t overlook it anymore. She was, downright, a annoying bitch.
Unfortunately I couldn't really see a improvement in her behavior and the end felt rushed.
