Veterinarian Matty Connors' visions lead her to homicide detective Brian Sullivan once again despite her resolve to remain anonymous the past four years. Her official work with the police in California resulted in the brutal murder of her fianc, and since, a recurrent nightmare she barely survives. Brian, the reputed ladies man of the Sullivan family, has yet to give his heart to a woman until Matty lays claim to it. His black-and-white approach to solving crimes doesn't jibe with Matty's spooky pronouncements or her reputation for alleged infallibility. A wild goose chase searching for a murder weapon casts doubt on Matty's "truths" and threatens their smoldering romance. Is Brian her nightmare slayer and ultimate truth? When the puzzle pieces fall in place for Brian, will it be too late to save Matty?
Kay and Mickey Lynch gave birth to two daughters - US. Patricia Noel was born in their native city, Bronx, New York, but only resided there while in the hospital nursery. The little family moved to a two family house in New Jersey - Kay and Mickey's "house in the country". Three and a half years later Kathleen Ann was born and the Lynch family was complete.
Our parents' names might sound familiar to you. That's because we made a promise to each other to name characters in each of our books after our mom and dad - whether they just have cameos or they get to have some fun as secondary characters. This way they live on in our pages as well as our hearts.
Daddy was a doorman for the exclusive Fifth Avenue designer, Hattie Carnegie, until her death and the close of her shop. A natural born storyteller, he would regale us with stories of the famous people he helped into and out of the shop every day: the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Jackie "O" (before she was a Kennedy or an Onassis) and Lucille Ball. We extended an invitation to Lucy and Desi to come for dinner and watch "I Love Lucy" with us and we could never understand why that never happened.
Mickey started his own paint contracting business in town and Mike The Painter was much beloved by his clients. In his spare time he wrote children's books that delighted us. He died when we were teenagers and Kay never remarried. After she died, we self-published three of our favorite stories available through online retailers in eBook format (author, Michael Lynch)
We were young when Daddy died and Mom was nearly destroyed with grief. It fostered an "us against the world" mentality that lives on today in our special bond with each other. We relish "sister time"..
Kathie married Tom and gave birth to two sons Tom and Michael. Kathie is the proud "Nana" of five grandchildren. In addition to heading a small human resources services company, Kathie is a naturalist and volunteer in sea turtle and seal rescue in Outer Banks, North Carolina.
Pat married and had two daughters, Jen and Emilie. She divorced ten years later. Then she married Nick Casiello. Aside from gaining a perfect husband (in her opinion) she also gained a son, Brian. She is the founder and President of three relocation benefits management corporations. Pat and Nick co-run the small businesses and live in the western suburbs of Chicago.

In book three in The Sullivan Boys series, homicide detective Brian Sullivan doesn’t expect a car to hit him while he’s already running late for his brother’s wedding. But Madeline Connors isn’t just anybody. She’s a psychic who has information on Brian’s case. Matty doesn’t want to involve herself in yet another police matter, but she’s driven to help those in need. Brian is skeptical of her gift, but neither of them can ignore their growing attraction as they work the case together. Brian and Madeline (Matty) are great characters. I haven’t read the other books in this series, but I loved Brian’s large, noisy family. His siblings, their spouses, and his parents are kind, warm-hearted people. I listened to an audiobook version of this story. The narrator, Ted Brooks, did an amazing job with his rough, sexy Irish accent. For anyone who likes romantic suspense with a psychic twist, check out this book. 4 Stars
Just ok. Could have been better. I was annoyed with an inconsistency.
STORY BRIEF: Matty is a psychic who helped solve crimes for the police. Because of this, someone close to her was murdered. Therefore, she quit helping the police and moved to Illinois. She now has visions concerning a missing man and is compelled to give the information to Brian, a local detective. She reluctantly agrees to continue helping him with the case as long as her name is kept secret (i.e. so no killer knows she is helping the police). He agrees. They are attracted to each other as they work together.
REVIEWER’S OPINION: This author is the writing team of sisters, Pat Casiello and Kathie Clare. I was hesitant because I have never yet been pleased with books co written by two or more people. I was hoping to like it but was somewhat disappointed. I have read a handful of books that were co written. They’ve all been 1 or 2 stars. This is the best one so far and its only 3 stars.
This story has the basic ingredients for a romance novel, but I wasn’t emotionally drawn in. I’m not sure what was missing. It was probably the characters. I was taken aback at how immediately they “fell in love” with each other. He’s thinking babies and marriage way too soon. He dated many women before, but his immediate desire to marry Matty didn’t feel right. I didn’t see a relationship develop before they fell in love.
It’s a short story, about half the size of a typical romance novel. In general, there was nothing special or different. It was just ok. I’d get it from the library. I wouldn’t buy it.
I noticed another reviewer claims this book “is as cleverly entertaining as KISS THE GIRLS, and as thrilling as ALONG CAME A SPIDER, with Morgan Freeman.” In my opinion, no. I saw the movie “Kiss The Girls” and found it full of intrigue and depth. This book had an interesting plot with a lot of questions answered, but the characters, events, and situations used to develop the plot were not exciting. Usually books have more depth than movies but in this case (for me) the movie did.
CAUTION SPOILER: The authors blew it on one conflict. They wanted Brian to have a reason to not trust Matty, but they were inconsistent as follows. On page 84 Matty tells Brian that she knows a gun is in a boxcar but she says “I have no clue where this boxcar is located.” Brian says “I do.” He had seen a boxcar in someone’s home. They went there, but found no gun. On page 129 Brian is thinking the following about why he does not trust Matty: “The boxcar incident hung between them. The evidence and her truths didn’t line up. They had the gun, no thanks to Matty. She had been wrong about its location.” Later in the story, he learns that the gun had been in a boxcar in another location that he hadn’t known about. He was the one who claimed to know the location not her. Now he says she was wrong so he no longer trusts her? This annoyed me. If the authors wanted distrust, they should have come up with something better.
