I also got this for Christmas in ~2010. There are three separate stories in this special edition. The first story was about the Christmas decorating contest on Katie’s block. There was high competition between Mr. Brigandi (switcheroo) and the Derkmans, and Katie felt that the Christmas spirit was being ruined. She was able later to encourage everyone to help the homeless. The second story was about saving the Earth and Christmas wrapping. Katie switcherooed into Lauren, the gift wrapper at the mall. Katie saves Lauren’s job by reusing materials like newspapers. The third story was about Santa (her grandma’s friend looks like Santa) and secret Santas at school. While switcherooing into the elf at the mall, Katie makes a mess of things and the fake Santa quits. She gets her grandma’s friend to be Santa in place of him. For secret Santas at school, she received some horrible gifts, but her final gift was genuine (and the bad gifts were so she wouldn’t be able to guess who it was from).
Super fun and full of Christmas cheer! I liked that one of the stories shared a bit about other holiday celebrations throughout different cultures. My favorite was the Secret Santa one!
I love Literature for the young and Katie Kazoo was no exception. I particularly like the way Katie tries to save the Environment. The best story, in this book of three stories is the one about the Gift Wrapper, Loren, Katie's fiasco when she 'takes' over her job. Katie Kazoo rallies and Loren uses newspaper so artistically that everyone wants a gift wrapped by Loren with nothing but newspaper. Makes you really want to recycle stuff! Lovely idea.
In this book there are three stories about katie and christmas. She is so exicted to bake cookies, wrap prestents and go caloring with her freinds. But when the holidays can't keep the magic wind away.In this book she turns into a department store gift wraper, her neighbor and a christmas elf. so join katie in this wild adventureas she gets to be adventerous..
I read this aloud to my five- and seven-year-old daughters. It's not the kind of book I usually read to them, but I wanted something Christmasy. I didn't realize it was three different stories. I actually skipped most of the second story because it was about Hanukkah. Not interested! My daughters liked it. I think my seven-year-old would like to read more Katie Kazoo books on her own.
katie kazoo christmas has three storys... and im going to tell you one of them. Its about there being a contest and too peple are entering the contest and thay fight over whos going to win the contest. But katie kazoo brakes up the fight and thay all get there crismis spirit back.
I think this book is amazing because its all about Christmas and how people sometimes feel.I have to say I was surprised about some details in the story.
