With all the political squabbling going on before the election I felt it would be prudent to reread the Constitution to better understand the Founding Fathers insight into how our government was meant to operate. Mr. Kluge has taken the original wording of the Constitution and, without changing it in any way, helped define the wording used into modern context. I had not realized the definitions and usage of many words used in the original document have evolved from the original meaning. Along with a better understand of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence there are a number of adjoining facts inserted which show how the documents have been applied, changed and negated over the years. These documents should be reread by all Americans so they may better understand what their elected officials are doing (or are not dong). Only then may we be able to follow the path toward a true "Land of the Free."

Kind of dry, but a good and important reference that does the job it sets out to do very well. It's one of those books I think a homeschooler should have on the shelf when studying government, especially for the detailed explanations and defining vocabulary as you read to make the meaning of the constitution clear.
