Leonardo DiCaprio is a Vampire

Rate this book
'Twas the night before Halloween, and Fisher Roberts wishes it was over, not being a fan of this or any other holiday. But he tolerates it because his roommate/best friend Hunter Long takes a childish glee in all things Halloween. And Fisher has a vested interest in keeping Hunter happy. If only he could find the nerve to tell his childhood friend that he loves him and has for a very long time.

Fisher thinks Hunter is carrying things a bit far this year, though. First Hunter claims to be a vampire, and he just won't let the silly joke go. Then he forces Fisher to go to a costumed Halloween party which Fisher would rather avoid, especially when he realizes where it's being held and whose house it is. Things at Fisher's job might just be going south, too, when he receives a mysterious summons to report to the editor's office the next morning. And then Fisher goes and does something stupid -- like kissing Hunter!

Bad leads to worse when Fisher ends up at the Halloween party from Hell, and he learns something that threatens to destroy his and Hunter's relationship forever. Running from his fears, Fisher encounters a strange young man with an unusual resemblance to Leonardo di Caprio, who shows him things he never realized before, truths about his life and the people in it.

Can Fisher find his way back to Hunter, and can he find the courage to do what his heart wishes?

You know, I really enjoyed this. To a surprising degree!

I see people complaining about the vampire aspect not being necessary. I say, who cares! It was a fun read with its Halloween and Christmas Carol weirdness.

Very sweet, strange and plenty entertaining.

Rounding up!

I have to admit I bought this because of the title. I was pleasantly surprised by the story, however. I'd not expected much from it, and it turned out to be more entertaining than I'd hoped.

What was the proper protocol for this? Was he supposed to give a warning of some sort--orgasm ahoy?

Oddly stressful and entertaining. The audiobook narrator is not what I expected, but I adored the performance. Unique!

Listened to as an audiobook on Libby.

Since there was a very firm warning about explicit content and I’ve never read a book with a warning before, I was really expecting way more than just one…I also thought there’d be more vampires. Quite disappointed.

Me waiting for/looking for the content that I was warned about:

I have to say the title is a little misleading, but it ties very well into the story. This is marked as a paranormal romance, and I felt the paranormal part of it took a back seat to the actual love story of Fisher and Hunter. But for me, that was very OK and was more of a fun element to through into the mix.

I have to say I loved Fisher. I thought his character was very realistic and loveable. Fisher was the more sensitive of the two, but he also was the most lost. And we watched him find himself throughout the book. Hunter was just a sweet, sexy man that ended up surprising me when all was said and done.

The romance between the two was lovely and well plotted. As I said, the paranormal part was thrown in, more like another issue that required acceptance but all in all it was a very sweet book. I recommend to anyone that loves m/m romance, as this is one of my favorites.

In a nutshell, I really enjoyed this book. The characters were sweet and believable, and you really learn to care about the characters.

This book would have been just as good if Hunter had not been a vampire, but just another guy who hadn't yet had the balls to tell his friend he was gay for him.

Barring those things, a good read, well written and engaging. I'd recommend it.

Hunter Long and Fisher Roberts have been friends since childhood. Now adults and sharing a house the become caught up in the usual and some unusual entanglements of life. I didn't care much for this book because the author tried too hard to shove too much into 40 pages. The plot kept tripping over itself instead of flowing steadily. The main characters were likeable but again moving rapidly through a maze more than evolving. This could have been a good book if it was 125 pages and the plot was allowed to unravel better.

I wanted to like this more. Maybe because I listened to it and the reader was not what he could have been. Occasionally he mispronounced words or spoke too formally.

The writing was ok, but it ended too quickly and really never dealt much with the "vampire" aspect of the book. At least the sex scenes were good!

Nice romance with two very likable characters but the supernatural twist was completely superfluous.

cute story... but why put a vampire in the middle??? the paranormal side of the story is pointless .... and so it's spoils the story. 1 stars in less...

A fun/hot story reminiscent of "A Christmas Story" or "A Wonderful Life", but set at Halloween.

2.5 stars rounded up, because I listened to the audiobook so it may have influenced my decision on the book. I didn't think that this was better than any other friends to lovers book. In fact, it was rather bland and ordinary, nothing special about it other than the vampire thing thrown in, which I didn't think helped.
