I love reading about people's career paths because they can be inspirational and full of unusual twists and turns. This was a great insight into what all those jobs you see in the credits are actually about. As I was reading the book, I thought "this would be great to do for business or theater" and lo and behold, the authors said at the end that they intended this to be the first in a series of books!! I'll definitely read the others...even if it's some far out field that I would normally be interested in!

Good amount of interviews with a wide variety of people from the entertainment industry. What I found especially interesting were the individual daily schedules of each person. The name is a little misleading in that it doesn't give direct tips about how to get jobs -- it's really a series of interviews with people speaking about their particular jobs. But those in and of themselves could be very helpful to people looking to learn more about jobs that aren't initially thought of.

I'm not quite sure who the target audience of this book is supposed to be, job seekers or those with an interest in the inner workings of film and TV. Despite this, I enjoyed learning what the heck those various terms mean as you get deeper into the credits of a film or television show. It is filled with interviews from both known and unknown names so it really does represent a wide cross-section of Hollywood.

must give this a good review as the author is a very old friend!!! i quite enjoyed reading the interviews in this book giving insight to all aspects of Hollywood. Totally interesting to read how individuals found their career or calling and circuitous route they meandered to get there. cute questions chock filled with information.

There's a comprehensive cross section of lesser known entertainment careers represented here, and the projects discussed in many interviews are relatively current. Worth perusing if your career is pointing you west. Two drawbacks: the glossaries are almost condescending, including words like 'sitcom.' And the authors' wraparound is on the cutesy side.

I got this book as a free Friday nook book, and I wasn't expecting much out of it. But I have to say it was actually quite fascinating to read about the industry and how big names got to be where they are. A good easy and informative read
