Delightful story that threw a curve at the end. I enjoyed the humor in several places as well.

Wow! This is our second read from the Tuckers series. We first read The Special Secret and weren't sure if this would be as good. It was such a great book! It was funny, engaging, wonderful as a read aloud, and I was completely unprepared for the last four chapters. I did not see that coming. Despite what my 11 year old says I do not cry at everything, be prepared with tissues for a heart warming twist you might not see coming.

The short summary is the Tuckers meet a basset hound in an unexpected way and it changes their summer. They showcase teamwork and hard work. Similar to The Special Secret, this one also takes place in summer and includes 4th of July. The 5 Tucker siblings are visiting their aunt, uncle, and adult cousin in Oregon (in a fictional town called Park City which is distracting as it is such a destination spot in UT nowadays). Wanting to keep them happy = keeping them overly busy from their uncle's point of view. Their cousin is hilarious (ch 3: babysitting, the eating party, I don't want to spoil it for others). Their Aunt Lila is also hilarious (ch 12: the Loggers' Show, oh.my.word. hysterical). It was a really great read that I'm so glad we own.
