Amelia Forrest’s Dad died in a plane crash a few months ago. She now has no idea what to do or who/what to believe. The summer after the crash, she decides to get herself and and her mother back on track, as their life has slowly derailed since the crash. The morning Amelia puts her plan into motion, she sends her mom to the salon to get her hair done. While her mom is gone, someone comes to the door who claims he’s seen Amelia’s father. Amelia knows this obviously isn’t true, and tells him her father is dead. The man starts bawling and sits on the porch after Amelia shuts the door. While looking out the window waiting for the man to leave, Amelia gets the feeling her life is about to change forever. This is the heartfelt story of a 6th grade girl and her mother dealing with grief, and having two very different perspectives of dealing with it, and learning how to believe. Amazing story, very much recommend. At times the story can be a little boring, but hold on until the end - I promise it’s worth it.
