Let’s Drive, Henry Ford! is a scholastic chapter book biography for about grade 3. In this book, it unravels Henry Ford's life before he made history. The reader walks through Henry’s life experiences in chronological events: Henry's birth, his growing up on the farm and experiments Henry creates and his young adult years in Detroit when he invents the first motor car! This book organizes itself with Table of Contents listing 10 chapters. In the classroom, I would use this book as a great example for reading and writing biographies.
Interesting book. Never knew Henry originally hoped to manufacture watches. Parts of it were a little to detailed to keep some of my 1st graders interested. Overall a great nonfiction read aloud. Would be just right for 2nd-6th grade.
