Badgers

Rate this book
In the past decade, there have been considerable advances in the understanding of badgers, particularly the social behavior, ecology, and population dynamics of the European species. Badgers synthesizes the extensive knowledge which now exists, and makes available to naturalists, conservationists, professional scientists, and the general reader what has previously only been available from scientific papers. It provides an up-to-date, easy-to-read understanding of these fascinating animals and includes a final chapter on other species of badgers worldwide.

Michael Clark

Michael Clark is President of the Hertfordshire & Middlesex Badger Group. He is privileged to have badgers close to his home and became familiar with his local groups over many years. He has served on the Government panel on badgers and bovine TB, and he makes a good case against pressure from ill-informed quarters to cull badgers.

Well informed with helpful references to more advanced texts, this is a good introduction to badgers, particularly for younger readers.

This is a very thorough and well presented book, I have learned a lot about the badgers visiting our garden without being a dedicated naturalist.
