Simulations in the Study of International Relations is in three sections. Section One discusses the nature of simulations, their use in International Relations, and outlines a more flexible and promising way of thinking about them, since so much work seems needlessly constrained by definitions and the vocabulary of simulation development. Section Two tackles the question of evaluation and the use of simulation in an International Relations context. Section Three offers a series of complete simulations of five different types which may be used for educational purposes. The book is, therefore, both an analysis and a manual on the use of simulations but with implications far beyond the author's own subject for all using simulation techniques.
