This book is a useful specialist. It goes into depth about how paint viscosity, brush angle, etc. affect brush strokes, with lots of clear examples.

I read through it very quickly on the first pass -- the concepts are simple; it's just a matter of practicing until they become intuitive -- but I'd love to add this book to my reference shelf.

Great book in my opinion as it provides a very practical approach to brushwork, fundamental for all artists from beginners to the more experienced. There are good examples on each type of brushwork and very clear reasoning.

I'm still referring to this instructional book. It has helped me free up as far as my thinking about my approach to brushwork. An excellent reference with plenty of exercises to do.
