Never have I seen such an unappealing frog drawn in kidlit.

I'd pair this book with YOU WILL BE MY FRIEND, because for some reason Field Mouse has it in her head that Frog would be AN AMAZING friend and she's DETERMINED to befriend him. Which is a little awkward, but like some situations in real life, so I bumped it up from just one star.

I support independent bookstores. You can use this link to find one near you or order FRIEND FROG on IndieBound: http://www.indiebound.org/

Grade Levels: K-2
* A great book for younger readers that introduces them to onomatopoeia
* Can be used during the first few weeks of school or during morning meeting to encourage meeting new people and making new friends

Cute story about the friendship between a mouse and a frog. The mouse was also jealous of things the frog could do that the mouse could not.
