CATALYST

The nuclear firestorms had swept away the hatreds and the power struggles that had dominated the Earth for decades. But no hoped-for better reality was born in that blighted landscape. In a lawless and maddened world, blood and violence remained a means to survival - and power.

SPORTING CHANCE

In the harsh territory near what used to be the Western badlands, Ryan Cawdor and his crew join the search for the wreck of a crashed space station. But in the ruins of Las Vegas he falls prey to a maelstrom of violence. Hostage in a bitter war between regional barons, Ryan finds that even his best effort is an odds-even gamble, and that his son's life may depend on the whims of destiny.

Deathlands is a conspiracy against survival...

Death Lands The Mars Arena was a book that i am borrowing from my friend Michael. He lent me this book right after he was finished reading it and told me that he thought I would like this book and I did somewhat. This book is about a group or squad of some sorts that has to come together and survive in a post "holocaust" world. This world is now called Death Lands and in this book, the team must make their way to the western part of this world in search of the convention center to find the wrecked space station. The Las Vegas center is very dangerous and was a real gamble for the main character Ryan to take. My favorite quote from this story would have to be when Jake is talking to his son after he kissed a girl. He started laughing and said "like father like son." I enjoyed this quote because it was pretty lighthearted unlike the rest of the book which was a nice change of mood considering the tense atmosphere in the whole book. I thought the authors writing style was good it just was not one that I enjoyed reading. The book in general was very confusing. There were a lot of characters and different subplots being tossed at the reader, which was hard for me to take in. In was written in a standard third person point of view. I would not recommend this book for everyone. I think you have to really be into these sort of violent after the world end sort of books to really get the full potential out of this book. Im just not that kind of person so it was not my cup of tea. All things aside I would give this book a 3 out of 5 stars. It had good potential it was just very confusing for me at parts and really just was not my kind of book

Quite entertaining and action packed, but no real thinking involved... so a perfect nighttime read in my opinion.

An average apocalyptic adventure story. This one takes a century after the last war and now there are mutants running around the earth. Recommended
