A good book on Algebra that covers the foundations. I like the way that it gradually builds up a concept and it gives you a lot of examples and practice problems to solve along the way.

I absolutely love the simplicity, ease, fun, and straight-forwardness of the Homework Helper series, and the Algebra edition by Denise Szecsei is no exception. If you're having any problem at all with learning algebra, or any other basic course subject, such as English language & composition, essay writing, biology, and chemistry, physics, these are the books you should turn to first. They are a great supplement to any over-complicated textbook normally provided with the course. They are perfect for college-bound students, as well as young kids too. Children can easily grasp the simple concepts in the well-organized way they are laid out in all the chapters. It has helped me a great deal in my algebra studies, and essay writing, and so I just cannot give it enough praise! In those courses I made great grades!! Many thanks and accolades to the authors!

This book is a good review of basic algebra. It horrifies me to think that someone might use this to actually learn algebra. It was a concise, which was nice for me, since I just wanted a quick review. The examples and practice problems were all very simplistic and had little variation, so it would be hard to use this book as a tool to master algebra (or even as a tool to survive algebra). All the problems were really the easiest possible senarios. There were even a couple of typos on the practice problem answers, which could lead to some very confused algebra students. The negative sign really matters, people!

It surved it's purpose for me.
