Level 3 of the 'So You Want to Play Go?' series is intended for the more serious player who one day aims at joining the ranks of the dan level players. Topics such as the middle game and the opening will be familiar to veterans of the series but new topics specifically for single digit kyus, such as sabaki and overconcentration. You can proceed at your own pace, absorbing ideas as you go along or read through each chapter diligently, it's up to you. This installment also features biographies of professional players from China, Japan, and Korea who have dominated the modern tournament scene.
Another great Go installment! Writing is crisp, witty, and humorous; examples are pertinent and extremely helpful. The step-by-step format of the sample games are a real lifesaver. Again, if you play Go, you need to read this series. I've read it through once, but I keep coming back to it for help with specific problems. Really a fantastic resource.
