OMG this book was terrible!!! I won't even read the third book. This is one of the worst street lit novellas I've ever read. Montgomery portrays women as either wicked and deceitful murderesses or weak and needy. On the other hand, the men are shallow, hateful, disturbed, twisted, infidels or rapists. The novel lacks character development - I mean there is none at all. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. I've given the novel 2 stars because it at least made me mad, I mean I should credit Tiphani Montgomery for managing to evoke some emotion from the reader, right?

Listen close. Can everyone hear that? That's the sound of loud applause. My applause. Tiphani, you deserve much praise for keeping racism alive and well. Kudos to you darling!
What did I learn? Well, let's see. For starters I learned that all white women have flat asses. All black men are dashing and have huge dicks. All white men are old, ugly (with the exception of the one or two the main character wants to fuck) with - you guessed it - little dicks!
In here it says that Chloe's friend Joy was with Quon and that Quon killed her. That was never mentioned before. In fact, the story before told how Quon was with Apples and found her (and their daughter Bella) and killed her.
Does anyone know how annoying it is to have to figure out things like this while trying to enjoy a story?
Here, this is good for a chuckle. Oshyn goes to visit her grandmothers grave and she says "'Hola, Mama'," and the rest of the sentence continues like so" "...knowing she'd be happy to hear me speak in her native tongue." Well shit. Since the rest of what she said was in plain old English I'm left to assume that saying the word "Hola" is actually speaking in anothers native tongue. Well guess what friends? I bet you didn't know this about me but I happen to be very good at languages. Actually, I can speak about 7 or 8 different languages. Who'd a thunk it right? Try me.
Oshyn's employee and friend Brian, someone who was never shown to have any street ties and actually, he's white so he couldn't have street ties in an urban fiction book any, that would be far off the beaten path would it now? Anyway, Brian, all of a sudden comes to her rescue to find her kids and she "knows that if anyone could do it, he could." Can we have a little something to back this up? Anything? Just a tiny little nugget to get the story along?
Okay, now for the icing on the cake. I've saved the best for last here folks.
"Mye Storie". Uh-huh, you read it right. "Mye Storie". The main character named her some "Mye Storie". And... well... I was going to say something really funny here but...... I got nothing. I'm flat out of anything to say about that one right thur.
Tiphanie, no. Just no. NO! On so many levels, NO!
This is basically the Bitch series, with a few differences. It could have worked though, the Bitch series is freaking killer. But add in the racist comments, the wack ass names, the story that just picks up and leaves off with nothing in between, etc. and you've got the opposite of it "working", you end up with it "losing".
I'm giving it two stars and only because the first book is pretty good and this does have *some* redeeming factors. I think.
I'm going to read the third. I'd like to see how far the racism goes and how far off track she gets with the story. Maybe I'll like it, maybe she won't dig a hole for the story any deeper than it fell into with this.
As of right now, this is a prime example of why most authors should NOT do a series. Why most authors should do ONE BOOK and LET THE STORY GO.
Mye Storie. What the fuck. Young girls will read this and name their babies that. Way to go Tiphani. Way to go.

Almost forgot - let us not forget the editing. Or lack thereof. The "editor", really, really, really, really, loves, commas. So much, that they decided to show them off, and stick them in every other sentence, in the book! I wish I loved something like that, so much. Wait, a, minute. No, I don't, that would only make me look stupid, much like, this editor, looks to any intelligent reader, who opens this! Here are a few extras in honor of the "editor" >>>>>>>>>,,,,,,,,,<<<<<<<<<

In Still a Mistress by Tiphani Montgomery there is so many story twists and turns that involve mayhem and murder that it keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. Still a Mistress is definitely what I would call a "page-turner".

Two sisters, Chloe and Oshyn, one raised by their mother, the other raised by an aunt. They didn't even know they were sisters for a long time. It seems Chloe is the "bad" girl and Oshyn is the "good" girl. Most of the plot twists involve Chloe looking for revenge against Oshyn. Chloe believes everything Oshyn has should have been hers and she sets out to make sure that it is.

Tiphani Montgomery did an awesome job of creating three dimensional characters that readers could believe in. The plot and sub-plots are so believable that it is almost like I was there every step of the way.

I do recommend this book as a super read to anyone that loves mystery and mayhem. Be warned though, there are many descriptive sexual scenes within this book.

I was provided this book by the Remote Readers program through Kensington Publishing for an honest review.

This book was ok, but quite unrealistic in many parts. I have to read the trilogy because I already bought it. If there is anymore to read after that, I won't be reading them. The books are getting a little too carried away with the dramatics and violence.

In Tiphani Montgomery’s sophomore effort, Still a Mistress, readers are reunited with sisters Oshyn and Chloe. This installment begins right where the first novel ended and is just as action-packed and sexually-charged as part one.

The story starts with Chloe who, as usual, is still up to no good as she is still putting her conquests in compromising positions (literally). She continues to make everyone pay for her and her time, while still mourning the loss of her unborn child and Brooklyn, the man she felt was taken from her too soon. Ask Chloe and she will tell you the reason for all her misfortunes is her sister Oshyn.

Oshyn on the other hand is simply trying to pick up the pieces of her life and move past losing her best friend, husband, and son. Her painful pasts haunt her since the person responsible for this is no one other than her sister Chloe. Things start to return to normal for Oshyn, after her mom is released from jail and moves in with her. Together they care for her young son and raise Oshyn’s god-daughter. But just as soon as normalcy begins, Chloe wrecks havoc on her sisters life and Oshyn finds herself alone.

Still a Mistress was a great sequel. I couldn’t put this book down. The action and drama was painted vividly by the author; and left you mesmerized wanting to know what was going to happen next as well as rooting for the good guys and wanting the bad guys to pay.

This book had plenty of suspense with just enough sex and drama to keep a reader glued to the pages, anticipating the characters’ next move. Readers will not be disappointed with this book.

What did I like about the book?
I enjoyed the author’s gift of story telling; the plot of the sibling rivalry but also the implied message which let readers know that the measure of a person should be based on more than who looks best in a pair of skinny jeans.

What did I dislike about the book?
The action scenes, though they were good they weren’t realistic the characters took on super-human characteristics in some instances.

What could the author do to improve the book?
She could write more true to life action scenes. The author penned a great follow-up and has definitely created a following for herself with two great novels under her belt.

OMG, I didn't think the second installment could or would be as good as the first. Boy, was I surprised. Tiphani didn't disappoint with this story. From the first couple of pages you are whisked unto the damage of Chloe. It was like a 400 meter dash of non stop sprinting from the first page to the last. I liked how when all was bleak an unknown character would appear out of thin air to Oshyn's rescue. I hope that one day I will find such a devoted and down for whatever friend like Brian. What a guy, huh? I thought it was very crafty and essential to the story how Tiphani was able to weave in the new characters and give them such flair. I hated Mr. Shannon Deveraux. He made my skin crawl, ugh! All in all, I would recommend this book to everyone, even those who don't read Street-Lit.

This book definitely is a page-turner!!!
I was browsing the book section of my local Target and came across this book. The front cover caught my attention and the back cover lead me to reading a few pages, which sealed the deal. I hadn't read an urban tale in a minute, but I must say, this was an interesting read. It took me on a long topsy-turvy ride, which ended somewhat unexpectedly, but I was glad that it did when it did because the main character, Chloe, was too much to deal with. Word is there's another book in the works for this series. Judging from the reviews, everyone's ride is different. If you like urban drama with a lot of descriptive ups, downs, twists and turns - this book is for you.

2.5 Multiple spelling errors by page 7... fail! Don't get me wrong this book was quite entertaining, but it was very out there and not realistic at all. Chloe still pisses me off, how the hell does she get 9 lives but all the innocent people die? I thought it was hilarious the baby was named Mye Storie (ugh!!) and Oshyn had to explain to the detective that was actually the babies name and she wasn't lying. Well yeah, if you name your child something as bogus as that, you will have to explain it cuz it ain't normal! Not sure if I want to read the next book, if I stumble across it I might, but not going out of my way to buy it!

I am somewhere in the middle of this book and I have just put it down! It is far from being as interesting as the first book. I am going to finish it because I spent money on it BUT I am going to have to push myself to do so! This one really let me down and will end the series for me!

I wanted this to be an end to this saga and now to find out that there is yet another book to add on to this I am not going to stress myself out trying to go through it emotionally with Oshyn and Chloe again. I hated how Chloe is so desperate for sex all the time. There are just too many unrealistic situations in this book. I feel so bad for Oshyn but at the same time I don’t because how could she not see just how evil and weird her cousin/sister is? Also this book touched on mental illness and did a terrible job depicting that. Bi-Polar disorder does not make you obsessive or a killer, Chloe sounds like she has Boarder-line personality disorder.

2.5 stars...the story feels like it’s being prolonged just to have a trilogy. The author is filling the voids with wild murders and even a MM rape scene. I hope book 3 gets to the point and brings this sibling rivalry to a close.

i'm sorry but this was painful to read! it pretty much the earlier version of Ashley Antoinette's the prada plan, but not as good. like are you trying to tell me that in 2007 people were incapable or didn't believe in locking their doors or utilizing their security systems for their cars and homes? you're telling me that 3x, Chloe managed to successfully break in and enter with absolutely no struggle? yeah ok sure. and you're telling me wealthy people just randomly go around playing captain save a hoe to every sob story? i get it's a book but that's not how the world works. the world is not that small to where the person you need is always coincidently there out of the blue right when you need them which again is why the book didn't sell me. for Christ sakes, all the coincidental bumping into a familiar person was redundant bs. THE WORLD IS NOT THAT SMALL!!! I get that there are twist and turns involved and I understand that things have to go horribly wrong before something goes right. but everything was far too easy for Chloe to make me believe anything in the story was realistic. she had little to no obstacles in her course while doing her dirt. Oshyn's constant bad luck, intuition, instincts etc. made this more painful to read. nothing was spread out it was all on top of each other, one by one, which makes the story seem rushed, yet prolonged at the same time and again didn't sell me. it took me longer than usual to finish this book. I gave 2 stars because I can't deny the climax and resolution was intense. after reading the summary to book 3 I chose to end it here. I feel that should be a good end to the story.

In the second installment of “The Millionaire Mistress: Still A Mistress,” it is safe to say that Chloe Rodriguez is back at it again! Nearing the end of the first installment, Chloe stoops to a lower level than where she previously was; and help orchestrate a grave situation that ended with multiple lives being cut short. It is such a shame how a person can allow jealousy & envy to consume them to the point where no one is safe, not even the kids. Though Chloe can be a swift thinker, karma can give a much swifter sentence. Before having the chance to enjoy all the chaos that she helped cause, she failed to understand that “God Don’t Bless No Mess” and she became a casualty of the negative energy that she emitted.
The novel opens with Chloe resorting back to her old mistress ways. Having to run to Asheville, North Carolina to heal from her physical injuries and her bruised ego, she feeds her obsession to destroy the only family whom she has left with more rage, anger, and hatred. Agreeing to do a “favor” for her new sponsor, the mayor of Asheville,......

OMG That bitch Chloe was straight up evil. I swear on many occasions I wanted to strangle her. And poor Oshyn was always taking the blame for everything Chloe's trifling ass did. Can't wait to start reading Part 3

again a lot of drama, some push the envelope of reality. Yet still the twists and turns kept me interested and turning the pages. I'm going to finish up the series with the 3rd book and hope it has enough juice to keep me interested.
