Much like Ets's In The Forest, Another Day tells a fanciful tale of a little boy who goes into the woods for a visit with animals. Each performs a feat. But the boy does something they can't-- laugh. And he wakes from his dream laughing. The author's wood block pictures add a nice touch to a special story.
Marie Hall Ets was an American writer and illustrator who is best known for children's picture books. She attended Lawrence College, and in 1918, Ets journeyed to Chicago where she became a social worker at the Chicago Commons, a settlement house on the northwest side of the city.
This is the story of a young boy using his imagination to have a "confab" with a group of animals. Each one of them shares a talent, but the boy is the only one who can laugh and he wakes up from his dream laughing. This is a nice story about the joys of imagination with beautiful illustrations.
