Walking in on a beautiful woman taking a bath is a perk Todd Wainwright doesn't expect when he arrives at a friend's Hilton Head beach cottage. The chemistry of love
Emily has desired Todd ever since she first saw him at her sister's wedding. Having the sexy surgeon all to herself in a romantic oceanfront setting is beyond her wildest fantasies. But once the vacation's over, she's hit with a cold dose of reality. Is the workaholic doc ready to commit? Is the chemistry between them strong enough to turn a passionate lovers' idyll into a true and lasting love?
I am really confused by the 4 and 5 star reviews some gave this book because it was really painful for me to finish. 50 pages in I was going to stop reading it, but I figured I paid for it so i may as well read the whole thing. Todd and Emily had absolutely zero chemistry, i'm really not sure how they came up with the title of this book. The love scenes were over before they started, dull, and boring. The whole excuse of Todd saying their coming together was a mistake, him leaving Emily abruptly, and then later saying he didn't mean to say it was a mistake was just so ridiculous and unbelievable. I just really think the author didn't think this story line through. I really hate to write bad reviews, but this one deserves it.....skip it.
This book actually made me want to bust in tears. He has loved her since the wedding he went to and then seeing her naked in the shower and I'm laughing when she called the police on him. I can understand where the guy was coming from I mean he didnt just hit it and quit it he said he was sorry for the way he treated her and he wanted to treat her the way she was suppose to be. She fell in love with him finally and got pregnant. Todd said I think we made A BABY. THEY DID!
Laugh out loud good! Emily's low self-esteem has convinced her she's not worthy of the good doctor, Todd's, love and attention. Wonder what he's willing to do to change her mind?
Really enjoyable read. Todd and Emily is a cute couple I'm glad they worked it out and Todd got it together because Emily passed on Jarad (Poetry Man).
Chemistry of Desire by Melanie Schuster is the story of two doctors who by fate meet up at a Hilton Head cottage and instantly find themselves in a love affair so strong, running away seems like the logical choice. Todd has always loved the natural beauty of Emily, so when he gets the chance to get close to her, he goes too far and immediately feels guilty about rushing the relationship. Emily, feeling undeserving of Todd's affection wants to forget that she ever let him into her heart, and if she can't do that, she convinces herself that payback is a good plan B. Can two people who really love each other finally face their fears and tell the truth that could lead to their hearts' desires?
This was my first read by Schuster and I am pleasantly surprised. The book was an easy and enjoyable read, mixed with humor, romance, and a feel good story. I loved how the author weaved the storyline around Emily updating her friends about the relationship between her and Todd; it gave the story a unique, relatable, and fun twist. There were a couple aspects of the storyline that disappointed me that I will not say for the sake of spoiling the story. But I will say that there were interesting factors that were described earlier, but then contradicted later in the story, that if would have remained consistent, would have made for a more satisfying and atypical overall storyline. Nevertheless, it was a solid read and I will certainly be on the lookout for other titles by this author.
Todd was a smart man, but his words with the one woman he wants were just not there. He put his foot in his mouth repeatedly from the time they part ways in Hilton Head. Emily was more than most saw. She was strong, determined, self-sufficient. She was a woman with so much passion. She hide behind her brain and her accomplishments. Her friends were her biggest advocates. Emily and Todd had chemistry beyond anything Todd was ready to confront. Then it all hit him and he made a huge mistake. Getting back on track would be a job he would work hard to accomplish.
This is my first book I've ever read from Melanie Schuster. I was not disapointed I love the story and enjoyed it from start to finish. I loved the comedy, romance and drama. Melaine is an excellent writer. I look forward in reading more from her.
I loved this book about Emily and Todd's love affair. All is fair In Love and war and this couple definitely had both. What I loved most about love stories is the honesty and trust that true love details. An excellent love story that precedes "Poetry Man" another must read by Melanie Schuster.
From the start of the book with Emily and Tod's by chance meeting in Hilton Head, South Carolina to the end I was totally swept away by the storyline. This is a perfect example of how romance should be portrayed in writing.
