Rate this book
Ashley Antoinette (of Ashley & JaQuavis fame) steps out on her own once again with the next installment of her scandalously sexy Prada Plan series! Infamous bad girl Leah Richards may have lost Indie to YaYa, but that doesn't mean she's out of the game. You can't cross a woman like Leah and not expect there to be consequences—and that's just what Indie and YaYa are about to face when Leah captures and kidnaps the couple's baby girl, Skylar. This is no ordinary game of cat and mouse. Everyone knows that Leah is nuts and there are no limits to what she will do to get her revenge. Now YaYa's world is falling apart as she and Indie desperately search for their daughter, praying she's still alive. YaYa thought her street days were behind her, but now that the old demons have surfaced, she'll need a new plan to come out on top. But when all truths turn out to be lies, it's almost too much to take. Will Leah really kill baby Skylar? Can Indie hold on to his reign over Houston without falling victim to the game? And as long as Leah lives, is there any hope of Indie and YaYa and Skylar living happily ever after? All these questions and more will be answered in this heart-pounding sequel!

This was a good read for me. This is my first read from this author. I give this novel a 5 out of 5 Star review. This novel was written in 3rd person. This story is the second in the series. The story deals with two women, YaYa and Leah, and how their lives are so intertwined that it reaches to a deadly place. This story allows the reader to see how Leah became who she is and why she acts and moves the way she does, which includes why she now suffers from severe mental health issues. It also gives the reader the idea of why Leah is hellbent on trying to destroy YaYa’s life. Leah and her mental health issues has her obsessed with YaYa, YaYa’s life, and the fact that she believes YaYa’s existence is the reason for Leah’s rough life. Leah’s main goal throughout the novel was to ruin YaYA’s life even if it means erasing her from the face of the earth. The question is…would Leah be able to do it? You have to read the novel to find that out!

The Prada: Plan 2 Leah’s Story deals with loyalty and the fact that loyalty is a funny game at times. The flip side of loyalty is the whole saying of blood is thicker than water. You are able to see how the love of a mother for her child is deeper than that mother’s loyalty to a man. Also addressed in the novel is the fact that when you’re in the hustle game you have to keep your “friends” close and your enemies closer. A last issue addressed in this novel dealt with mental health and how abuse and neglect can burn a hole down to a person’s soul, especially if it goes untreated. You have two women that have dealt with abuse and neglect growing up, which drove how they interacted with people as adults. I definitely recommend this book…the ending will have you wanting to read the next book in the series.

Prada 2 is crazy and off the chain. Man when it rains its poors! One bad thing keeps happening one after another. I couldnt put it down. I had mad respect for Chase he remained loyal throughout the whole book, even when his boy went down! I didnt hate Indie-but he lost a lot of points with me in the first book. Although I know he was not in his right mind due to the loss of his brother, but you should know your gilrs body. So its like I understand his rage, bc you dont know how you would react if that happened to you (and you just dont know what will make you snap) but dang he went to the left completely. So I'm not blaming him, but what he did (to me) is unforgivable. He could have at lease let her explain! The ending.....man there has got to be a 3rd! Ashley dont do this to your readers....lol-Love it!

I just don't get it. You couldn't pay me to believe the idea that A.A. wrote The Prada Plan and The Prada Plan 2. Based on the little that I know, which is my reading of many A&J books in the past and these two, my thoughts are this: A.A. wrote The Prada Plan which was her big foray into writing alone if I remember correctly. It failed miserably so she enlisted hubby's help for #2. What else can it be? The Prada Plan SUCKED. The "crazy" parts came off as if a toddler had thought them up and being that this was the entire premise of the book it killed the whole thing. IMO.
This, even the "crazy" parts, were done 1,000x better. She had help. Which is fine. Who am I to care? But I don't like being deceived and any intelligent person who reads both of these can see a marked difference between the two.
Anyway, a few highlights if I may.
I think this just may be the first urban fiction book EVER to include a white man (even if he is a trick - hey, beggars can't be choosers right?) with... wait for it.... a big dick AND stamina. Who can actually work a chick over. Wait... what?! Did you say a white man?! Here I was thinking all white men had little dicks and no no skill. Hmph.
I'm not pleased with the insinuation on pg. 77. I have yet to find a news station - any news station - that only caters to missing white kids. Call me crazy but I do watch the news and actually am more well informed than many on this subject and I don't see it. This is nothing but another racial dig on the part of the author to the masses and it's disgusting, immature, and evil.
Now, yes, this is fiction. But... and this is a big but people.... not only is Nancy Grace mentioned by name but MSNBC and Fox. Leads us to believe this is meant to be realistic no? I happen to be a HUGE fan of Nancy Grave and I also watch Fox AND MSNBC. Never have I seen any of those three stations only carry information about white children/white victims. NEVER.
So let's keep stuffing misinformation into the minds of out readers shall we? We already know a huge part of the mass of readers we have can't think for themselves and will buy anything we tell them without actually doing any research or checking of their own. Big let down.
It was awhile ago when I read The Prada Plan and besides the fact that I couldn't stand it and felt like Brillo-ing out my brain afterwards, I have a bad memory already. But in The Prada Plan 2 we go all the way to pg. 134 without ever hearing about Indie and Leah and her being pregnant. There should have been some bridge between the two books here because it startles the readers when it pops up all of a sudden. Something that is that big.
This isn't a big deal but Indie having the cell phone handed to him, while in custody, right before Leah texts? Too convenient. It allowed for the story to flow uninterrupted but I like things a bit more realistic than that.
Here we have what is, quite possibly, the mother of all editing mistakes I think. Pg. 155 - "She went up to her bedroom and over to her closet. She had an entire department store inside: clothes, cash, cars, even jewels."
Do I need to say it? That's a baaaaddd bitch right there!!! I've caught an episode of cribs a time or two and never have a seen any bitch open up her bedroom closet to reveal some cars. Day-UM. (What may be even more funny is the use of the word 'even' right before 'jewels'. As if the cars are a given and the jewels are unexpected.)
Mona isn't mentioned until pg. 156 and although the context clues are there I believe some background could have been given. That she dies is all the reader is given so anyone reading this without reading the first would be clueless. Granted, it's sequel and shouldn't be read first but still, background goes a long way.
I'm not exactly sure of the timeframe this story is running on but let's just say it's safe to assume months go by from beginning to end. Leah has recently miscarried (beginning of book) yet breastfeeding (end of the book)? A mother's body just doesn't work that way. You're not producing milk a half a way after having a miscarriage. Unless you're actively breastfeeding you're not producing milk at all a half a year later. And if I'm remembering this right Leah has a miscarriage early did she not? So she wouldn't have been producing milk at all anyway. She didn't give birth to a live baby or stillborn. It would have been so easy to say she was "trying" to breastfeed and this would have fit right into her mental issues as well and not stood out to the reader.
I've come across this before and again, even though this is fiction I don't like the insinuations. Pg. 206 has YaYa visiting Indie in jail. YaYa, after being searched feels that "prison is a different form of slavery, modern day inhumanity." This is coming from YaYa yes, but only in form. This is coming from the author. I'd like to pose this question myself: What would YOU suggest we do with our rapists, murderers, molesters, child abusers, etc. Put them in a plush, 5 star hotel complete with a jacuzzi and chef? Then we'll ask them nicely to please stop commiting these crimes? It makes me wonder if A.A. considers a white man being locked up a "form of modern day slavery"?
It's sad. But, the book itself is good. far, far better then the first. A.A. asks in the back of the book whether the readers want a continuation. This is a moot point because even if the book wasn't left open there would be a third. No way can she leave it alone.
I'll read the third, not only to see if it leans more towards this or the first writing-style-wise, but also because this was, indeed, a good story.

I'm so fucking aggravated right now. I don't even know if I want to read the next one.

Yaya went through all that she went through to get to the point where she could pay back Indie's debt, get Ky P for his bullshit, and find Leah and kill her. Instead of just shooting that bitch and being done with her, she had to go out LITERALLY in a blaze of fucking glory, and that shit backfired. Now her man is free because that stupid agent not only didn't present the warrant when they bum rushed Indie and Yaya's home, but the fact that they took him in while he was incoherent meant the search and arrest was unlawful. And she can't even be with her man. She was ready to die with Leah. I know she didn't realize Sky was alive, but still.

Some shit just don't add the fuck up with this goddamn story. First of all, I am still annoyed that not only did Indie not realize that the butterfly on the woman's ass that killed his brother was on the wrong side, but he act like as long as he was fucking Leah that he never noticed the butterfly tattoo on her ass. It never once dawned on him to be like huh...the bitch I been fucking got a butterfly on her ass too. Yaya had to tell him who Leah was. Second, why didn't Yaya search the whole house? That shit don't make no sense. She should have seen that she had a room with a baby crib when she searched. She had time to find and unload her gun, but didn't know there was a whole room that she didn't look into? Third, why the fuck are these people looking at this woman who says she is Disaya and not notice the bitch don't have green eyes? They should know immediately that that isn't her. Indie is going to come back and know that isn't Disaya. What is he going to do?

So Zaya has taken a liking to Yaya, and so have her associates. So they came in like EMT's and put her in a body bag to make it look like she was dead. She is going to resurface as a boss ass bitch. But I feel like her and Indie are over. Zaya has a relationship with Indie. I want her to tell him where Yaya is. I want them to find the best plastic surgeons money can buy and put her face back. And I'm ready for Leah's ass to die! I'm sick of her. I'm ready for a new villain.

I was really annoyed by this one. The way it ended, I feel like Ashley Antionette wasn't sure whether or not she was going to finish the story, so I feel like the direction is going to change. But to be honest, I don't know for sure if I even want to read the third one. I feel like I have to. I feel compelled to read this before I read Ethic. And I was trying to hurry up and get through these so I could get started on that series. But this shit stressed me out way too bad.

This nigga had a heart attack with perfect health because his spirit knew something was wrong with Yaya. If they don't end up together after this I'm gonna be pissed. And I know Zaya lost a child, but that don't mean she should just not feel no type of way about Yaya not being with her baby while that crazy bitch Leah literally steals her identity. I'm rambling. I need to know what happens, but I'm so tired.

She said we might change our minds about how we feel about about Leah. Not me I hate her even more than I hated her before she's like an itch you can't get rid of. God I hate that girl I swear I hoped they come to realize that Leah's not YaYa.

THE PRADA PLAN 3: THE GREEN EYED MONSTER- Jan 29th 2012!!!! Ready??
Ok so I was at a 2nd hand store with my g-ma looking for books. I come across this book The Prada Plan 2. From the cover im thinking: hmmm. So I read the back and im thinking: Oh Indie is this upper-middle class hardworking guy, Disaya is beautiful loving mother/wife, and Leah is this creep who screws it all up. Well I got one part write. From the beginning I learned: 1. Leah is crazy.
2.Leah is crazy. And so on and so fourth. Even after learning of Leah's past I felt no remorse for her. Her actions were selfish and unjust.
The characters always ended up doing something that ticked me off, so Chase is my only fav. He was real and he never went against his his mains. We all need a Chase in our lives.
The end was MAD CRAZY! When I finished I couldnt stop saying no! Thats when I decided to read the first book. It cleared up all my confusion. I would love to hope Leah dies in the third book, but I doubt it and I want to see what Zya does with YaYa.
Overall the book was really slow in the beginning and took me weeks to read, but once you reach the last chunk you wont be able to put it down. This was the first Ashley Antoinette book I read and since then ive been addicted to both she and husband Jaquavis Coleman's novels!

This sequel to the Prada Plan left off right where the last one ended. This story continued to follow Yaya, Indie, and Leah with a couple of new faces and a surprising old one. This was supposed to be Leah’s story but it was just a background on Leah. The story was still mainly told from Yaya’s POV like the last one. I thought it was going to be through the eyes of Leah only. However, it still was a good story.
Yaya’s life went from low down to rock bottom. I mean how else would anyone be after the loss of their best friend and mother?
Leah’s life had a very sad and traumatic beginning. It was heartbreaking to read. However, adult Leah is so delusional and evil that it’ll make you forget all her childhood trauma.
There were some good reveals and twists. These women truly can’t outrun their pasts. I’ll be reading the next one for sure!

It took me longer than usual to read this book but I loved it nonetheless (probably because I read it in small increments).

I wasn't too happy to be reading Leah's story but I did feel her pain. However, I feel that her past misfortunes CANNOT justify her actions. She is just straight up looney.

Yaya is my girl but damn she can be so naive and stupid at times. Those times were especially prevalent in this book. For example, when she found out Leah was the mystery girl that Indie was messing with. Rather than talk to Indie, she decided to ignore him and make the dumb decision of sleeping with Mekhi...like seriously?! You're in a relationship with Indie..talk it out before you make stupid, rash decisions!

The book has so many twists within twists. Everybody knows everybody somehow.

Reading about the brawl between Yaya and Leah reminded me of a scene from a good 'ol lifetime movie! From the moment Indie's mom said "she sounds different" I knew Leah was the one who made it out the fire and that she was an imposter looking to become Yaya. I just hope that Indie isn't dumb and can recognize that Leah isn't his woman. After all if their love is so strong that he can feel when something bad is happening then he should be able to right?
On the other hand, finding out that Disaya was alive was a complete shock to me. It was even more shocking to find out that it was Zya who had taken her.

This was a great read. Definitely recommend. The only reason why I didn't give this book 5 stars is because I didn't feel emotionally attached to it. When characters that I like "die" I usually cry. I didn't cry at all in this book. I'm looking forward to reading part 3.

My daughter brought the book The Prada Plan home and she wanted me to read it. I thought this was another "ghetto" chick living for herself and herself only. I was wrong in that the book also shows how the protagonist got to be where she was. I enjoyed it very much and recommended it to my bookclub.

The second installment, however, left a little bit to be desired. There was a lot of repetitive words sometimes in the same chapters that made you want to say "Hey, we figured that out already. Why are you repeating the same things over and over?"

The ending was unexpected, but I'm assuming there will be a Prada Plan 3. If so, I probably will read it only to get some kind of closure, hopefully.

Wow! is all I can say about this book. I really did not expect all of what I got from it. There was drama and suspense from the beginning to the end. Now I must say I have not even read the first book. So yes I have to read the first one, and after reading this one I will definitely be doing that. The writing was so good though that I did not feel lost at all. I am waiting on book three. There has to be another part to this.

Prada Plan 2 picks up where Prada Plan pt 1 left off. Disaya Morgan and her fiance, Indie, are searching desperately for their little girl who has been kidnapped. We finally get a glimpse into Leah's past and why she may behave the way she does. Although, I enjoyed part one, Part two left me with some unanswered questions. Also, the ending was very confusing because ,without giving a spoiler,it wasn't possible.

This was another page turner & I can't wait for the trilogy however it's becoming more & more unrealistic. At the end I found myself rolling my eyes at the outcome. Too over the top.

UPDATE: Read the book a second time because I didn't remember anything about the book. It started off great, but it got a bit redundant and seemed to drag on. I had pretty much decided not to read Part 3, but the very last chapter grabbed my attention again.

There is something I dislike about this author. When she start a series, it just goes on and on in the worst, unrealistic ways! And she keeps supporting characters within the book dragged out way too long! It is okay to start a new main event in the series and end one without dragging it on! So now Leah has not only survived but she is about to become Yaya!? And Yaya has been kidnapped by Zya!? When Zya could have helped her get baby Skylar and end Leah, if not for her long time friend Indie!? I just can't! I need a break from this series! I needed a break from the Butterfly series because of the same thing!

Bruh! Just when you think it’s over NOPE Ashely hits you with another punch to the gut. Now Leah’s story was hard to read, there were some parts that were hurt so gruesome I had to stop reading a lot to recuperate. It all was very touching but this trick still has to go lol. The things she did out of jealousy and envy were insane. It’s like the girl has 9 lives she just keeps holding on lol. This book left off on yet another cliffhanger and shaking in my boots because what the hell.
