Discusses the efficient layout of a kitchen, explains methods for estimating the cost of kitchen construction, and supplies guidance on building kitchen cabinets
Some of the designs in this book reflect the aesthetics of the late 1970's and will seem dated as a result, and in some cases they're downright misguided, but most of the principles distilled from the Cornell studies in the 1950's are still sound.
(The Cornell kitchen's flour bin, for example, makes me think of how easily it could become bug-infested. But the general recommendation to store ingredients -- and tools -- near the point of first use and the most commonly used ones within easy reach is excellent.)
