J.M. Pierce is a simple midwestern man with a creative side who has found writing as his primary outlet. A Shadow's Light (Book 2 of The Shadow Series)begins a year after the conclusion of the first book. Test has found a new town in Wyoming to reside and try to begin a new life with out being identified. He has taken a new alias and works as a logger. He never thought he would love anyone again after his relationship with Nicole proved to have to many complications to survive. However, it does meet a beautiful girl that just happens to be his boss's niece.Test will find out that he is not the only one with secret abilities. This story does include bullies as in the first book and a new innocent romance. Yes he does learn new revelations about his powers and what he actually is.

I have been anticipating this second book of the Shadow Series. I was excited to find it on my kindle and I read it in one day. J.M. Pierce did an excellent job in following his first book with new characters and description of how Test has handled hisself a year after what took place in the ending of Failing Test. I will admit that when I began reading I thought the characters from the first book will be part of this story line and his romance story. I was disappointed to find out that the girl he loved ion the first book was mentioned a few times but would no longer be involved with Test. Don't worry I understand and did really like the new love interest. She does have a lot more in common with Test than the relationship between Nicole and Test that began from a crush between the both.
There is a couple of characters from the first book that you will be happy to see make the cut for the sequal. I enjoyed this book and was surprised after reading the last sentence that my kindle read 100% completed. I continued to try and turn the page but no luck. Awwwww that is the end? Yes. I am definitely rethe 3rd book!!

A Shadow's Light is a great sequel that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Test Davis has found a new life in the small town of Saratoga, Wyoming. He has a job and now goes by the name Chance Johnston. Things are going fine until he begins a relationship with the boss's niece Alyssa. She has a secret of her own, she can see and talk to the dead. When some of his co-workers start causing problems for him Test has a hard time controlling his powers. This is when things go from bad to worse. Test and Alyssa are on the run and this time it's not just from the authorities. There are other worldly beings out to destroy them.

While there are some similarities to the plot from the first book the author has brought so much more to this story. Test himself has grown as a great character and I really like Alyssa. We also get to enjoy some favorites from Failing Test. Cliff is such a great character and friend to Test even now with his current situation.

There is lots of action and suspense and some romance in the mix. I enjoyed the ending and am looking forward to finding out what happens next. This e-book was provided to me by the author for review. This did not affect my review in any way.

A Shadow's Light is the second book in the The Shadow series. Test Davis is on the run from himself and from a bad situation he left behind. He's found that he has some powerful gifts that he struggles to control, partly because they tend to ramp up his teenage temper to an even higher and more uncontrollable level.

Working on a house construction crew helps him hide for a while. But then he meets and falls for Alyssa, who manages to pull down his defenses, before eventually admitting that she has a secret of her own.

This book is basically a Young Adult Fantasy novel, not normally my favorite genre, but I kind of liked it anyway. 3 stars.

well written good reading experience

I really enjoyed the first book! This book was a great follow up expanded the character(s) and story; moved it in new directions. Well thought out, with good secondary characters that enhanced the story! I could not ask for more in a reading experience. The author CAN write and tell a great story! I got the next book ready to read! Appreciate the Novella at the end on the great character of Cliff. It was a nice gesture that most authors would have put out for a price.
Thank you

I liked this book even better then the first one. I did get a little lost half way through but I found my way. As always I think Cliff is my favorite character and I like Alyssa much better then Nicole (she wasca tad bit to whiny for me). It was for sure worth the read.

Like Stephen King's Gunslinger series, A Shadow's Light was better than Book One, but I hated waiting for it. JM needs to clear his desk and get working on book three!!!
