Pirate and mercenary Weiss Kyakh works as a reluctant double agent for the Supreme Constellations. Her mission is to infiltrate a cutthroat band of space pirates along with a sentient bio-android, Madisyn Pimm. Pimm's sole purpose is to bring pirates to justice. Weiss soon realises that Madisyn has her own secrets.
Gun Brooke resides in the countryside in Sweden with her very patient family. A retired neonatal intensive care nurse, she now writes full time, only rarely taking a break to create web sites for herself or others and to do computer graphics. Gun writes both romances and sci-fi. She is the recipient of the 2009 Alice B. Medal for "body of work."
Lots of action, space battles, a space pirate and a love story. Every break I got at work I had to go and read a few more pages. This story is part of the Supreme Constellation stories as some of the same characters Rae and Kellen show up briefly but not the main characters and that is ok. One of the evil baddies that is in the Protector of the Realm does show up in a big way. I would like to read another story with the pirate Weiss and the android Madisyn.
One of my favorite Gun Brooke novels. Last book of the Supreme Constellations series. A sweet and touching romance between a former space pirate turned double agent and a sentient Bio-Neural Synthetic Lifeform (BNSL).
They've been assigned to work undercover against a notorious and ruthless pirate. But both of them have secrets they're not willing to share with each other.
A slow burn enemies to lovers trope with plenty of pirate-y action and suspense worth shivering your timbers off.
4.5 star rating Another entertaining read in the series, this was a busy story and had quite a number of characters and their upcoming or better halfs. While the core of the story is in no doubt entertaining, I do feel the numerous couples/relationships was a tad too much...I mean I had to always reflect on which couple or relationship I was reading.
It's the fourth in her Supreme Constellations series. Great read. Lots of action. The fast pace switches between two new relationships and the continued relationship between the original characters so it leaves you hanging from chapter to chapter and keeps you turning the pages. I'm not a hard core sci fic reader, but I love Gun's stories. They are so much more than science fiction. It's a great series.
Another great sequel for a great series. The suspense was great, making me wonder what's going to happen next. The action was thrilling, it kept me on my seat reading what was going on. The drama was well put, it made me feel sad and mad with some of the characters. The romance was lovely, with some unexpected couples and great 'scenes'. This one was a great ending for a great series and I hope to read more stories like this one.
Fourth and final volume of the Supreme Constellations series, in terms of character this one was my favourite - the main romance is between a space pirate with a conscience and a sexy sentient android both sent on a deep cover assignment to smoke out some pirates. Things hot up when they find out that villain Trax M'Aldovar is still alive. The main romance is really great just wish there had been more of it. The book also gives us the may to december romance between Ayahliss and Judge Beqq and of course we have Rae and Kellan in the background - So there's quite a bit going on here as well as the main romance. Too many apostrophies and weird name spellings put me off a little and the language & technologies are heavily influenced by star trek - but if you want a lesbian themed star trek-esque novel this is the series to read!
I really enjoyed the story, it was good to read about old characters and remember their stories as well as the story of Madisyn and Weiss. A great read, excellent!
another great read from Gun Brooke. I'm sorry this is the end of the 'Protector' series, but other stories by Gun will, I'm sure, be just as satisfying.
