He seemed like a good man, despite what I thought at first, yet he had his heart set on raping me - a fifteen-year-old boy. It was hard to figure out. And actually, I never did. But that was okay.

The blurb kind of sucks, but it's a great story. In short, Ryan has been kidnapped, along with his 2 sisters in Morocco. Somehow they manage to escape but are starving, lost and far from home. So they decide to steal a sail boat only to finds its owner still on board.
This results in them making a deal with the owner - Sno. They get a free ride to wherever they want and the price is Ryan's ass for the duration of their journey.

Now at first Ryan feels really cheap just for saying yes in the first place. He's 15 while Sno is black and 52. Not a match made in heaven, that's for sure. But Sno is full of surprises. Instead of just throwing Ryan on the bed and having his wicked way with him, he likes to touch his chest and smell him. Sometimes maybe watch. Anyway, during his 'explorations' roles reverse, and suddenly it's Ryan calling all the shots, dictating positions and eventually demanding sex.

All in all, I just loved this story. Even the beginning wasn't disturbing or anything, but their interaction and especially the ending is such a delight it would be a shame to miss it.

For those who are still skeptical; remember The Girl For Me? This one is from the same author;)

Oh Ryan, you're so precious. I was really hesitant to read this because of the subject matter. Ive never been one to endorse pedophilia but this was a good read. I think because the story was told from Ryan's pov and there were no malicious thoughts behind Sno's actions, it really worked for this story. I'm going to have to internally discuss the moral implications of me being okay with this story but that's a discussion for another day.

First, I agree that this story was better than I ever expected. I was almost dreading it for the way the blurb sounded, but thought I could give it a chance. And when Sno made his announcement to Ryan nearly from the start, I thought that this was going to be so much different than I thought it would. As Ryan's attitude and feelings changed, so did mine. The age difference didn't become such a big deal and even the illegality of it wasn't so bad.

Second, while I didn't have a hard time with it, the author used a lot of American slang and turn of phrase, an attitude that is American and def (definitely) not Dutch. It seems obvious the writer knows of other lands, whether by travel or by study, but what I read was an American boy and not a Dutch boy. There wasn't any slang I didn't understand as in something colloquial for Ryan. It wasn't really an issue, but it did on occasion distract me.

Third, Lisa would have to be a really REALLY sophisticated 13 yr old to be okay with what was proposed and what was happening between Sno and Ryan and not freak out about it. It's one thing to be pushed into making that kind of decision when your life is turned upside down and you could die in the next few minutes or so. But, it's quite another to have the safety Sno provided, the security and know how Sno is, and not say something more.

Fourth, I want to say I hate the ending. I liked how they returned... liked how upset they all were in saying goodbye to Sno, that Ryan and his sisters were going to move on from that experience. I even liked Ryan's approach to Evan. I didn't like Evan being how he was or the fumbling therein. I hated that Ryan called on his 'mentor' to 'teach' Evan how to love a man. Not that Ryan, or even Snow would force Evan into anything. I guess, I would rather Ryan to have broken up with Evan, and gone to meet up with Sno on his own. Does that even make sense?

Actually, I think I would rather have a short epilogue about Ryan telling us that Evan and he became lovers, but then there were others, and that maybe he'd met up with Sno a time or two. Then he read about Sno dying (being killed or something), but Ryan tells us this more as a fond remembrance of his first love, his first lover. Something like that... I really did not like the ending.

What else... I did really like how they both came to confess that they did love one another. And loved even more the fact that it wasn't a lover's love, and maybe not even a romantic love. But it was good and true. There were such good parts in the book. Ryan asking Sno some hard questions to answer (about him being a pedophile and Sno's response to that). About his realization that Sno will die before Ryan will even become middle age and how that thought upset him.

All in all, I really did enjoy the story, despite my reservations and the story content.

This was a delightful mixture of hot, sweet and romantic. I adored it. I read several reviews saying that this was not what it seemed, so much better than the blurb or what one might expect it to go. All that is totally true. And even though i expected it to be great, it still managed to exceed my expectations. Absolutely all characters are lovable, the pace is perfect, the plot riveting and realistic, and the sex even hotter and more realistic. Loved this to death!

I just couldn't get past the age difference. I tried but couldn't do it. It's well written with amazing amount of details but the age difference was a gap that couldn't be bridged for me.

Ryan, 15, and his two younger sisters are kidnapped in Morocco. They find a yacht and have some basic knowledge of sailing so they decided they are going to steal it and sail home (they're Dutch). They are surprised to find the owner, a black man named Sno, who is 52, on board. Sno tells them he will sail them home in exchange for sex with Ryan, who agrees reluctantly, he thinks, to keep his sisters safe. He's surprised when Son turns out to be not quite the monster he thinks he is. He's actually a pretty nice guy when you remove the whole idea of the sex with a teen. Wow, that's cringy. In the real world, this doesn't work, ever. But in this story, the author makes it all come together. Sno and Ryan slowly form a friendship. Although there are some non-con elements to it at the start, those never involve sex. It's not long before Ryan is the instigator. Ryan has a lot of self-discovery throughout the story. The ending was nice.

This is not a bad story, though the age difference was a little weird for me. I read this story because I read another book by this author and loved it, The Girl For Me. This story is not as good, but I still enjoyed it. If you think you could get overthe large age difference (main characters are 15 and 52), then I recommend this story. It a quick read. I enjoyed watching Ryan come to terms with his sexuality.

What tempted me about the story were two things - that the author is in his fifties and identifies himself as a straight male and that I've read another story by him ( The Girl for Me - check it out if you don't know it) which I liked a lot. I'm so glad I gave it a chance now, because I thought it was very well written and managed to write something sexy, interesting and funny using a plot line that would normally make me think of a silly and kind of gross pwp. I loved the main character because he manages to be sincere with himself and even if he gets insecure or scared he doesn't start to angst all over the place. (I like angst, but it's nice to see some characters who don't want to kill themselves when life is hard and scary). I also loved the ending. Very funny and cute (or... umm... sexy?).
My final advice: if you feel like reading something different, but still slash go for this.

This wasn't what I thought it was going to be... Ryan and his two sister were kidnapped and they escape and are trying to get home. They were going to steal a yaht but found out that the guy that owns it is still on the boat. So in exchange for them to get home Ryan gives himself reluctantly (for the most part) to Sno a 50 yr old black guy from Africa. Basically Ryan has stockholm's syndrome and kinda sorta falls in love with Sno but doesn't want to admit it to himself. Sno also starts to have a conscience in the middle of the book and wants nothing to do with Ryan, until Ryan trys to suduce him. This just wasn't the story for me. I didn't think it really had an ending. There were parts that were lagging as well.

I liked it. I wasn't sure I would.

The beginning was the hardest for me. I found the writing to be almost dispassionate...aloof. It left me with an uncomfortable feeling. But as the story progressed, Sno is revealed to be an honest, upright man and Ryan begins to challenge and question the beliefs he has grown up with. Over time a bond is formed, more than either of them anticipated at the outset of their arrangement.

And if anyone is keeping score - I liked the ending! I literally laughed out loud!

Well written, very fluently (although there are a few mistakes)

Ryan's character is very interesting. It's amazing how detail his thought and emotions are shown. He's funny.

I decided to read it after reading the reviews since it looks like a complicated story and I like complicated.

Although in some countries the age of consent is 16, the age difference is disturbing. I think way more people would enjoy it if the age difference wasn't so big. But you can't really change the story to suit your wishes.

I loved the author's other story, The Girl For Me but this one didn't work for me. I couldn't get past the (to me) huge age difference. I'd have trouble with a 37 year age difference no matter what but in this case that age gap is between a 15 year old boy and a 52 year old man. Way outside of my comfort zone. Not a terrible book just not for me at all.

I was sceptical at first, especially as the summary isn't all that great, but the story and characters definitively grew on me along the way.
The story is an old one and it shows, especially in the first chapters. The editing and tenses aren't always perfect, but I couldn't stop reading anyway because I really wanted to know how it all would turn out.
So, not perfect but I still quite enjoyed reading it.

Actually it is a good story even tough I found quite disturbing with age gap between two MCs. But what I love from Sno is he's so kind, generous and trully gentleman with Ryan and his sisters. Ryan is quite funny character. Overall, it is satisfying read.

I reccomend this with caveats -- it's basically a pedaresty novel (as opposed to pedophilia), and is sort of forced. I thought I would hate it. I loved it.
